Greg's kookaburra
Our neighbour has a very friendly kookaburra which comes to his verandah every day for a treat.
Greg is away camping at the moment (I think the area he is in has been cut off by floods!) so the kookaburra and her baby have started coming to our back door. They dont show any fear and have a really harsh conversation squalk, nothing like the air piercing laugh which they usually have.
Added to the rooster, it's a bit like the musicians of Brennan out the back in the mornings.

I live in the southern part of the United States. We do not have kookaburras around here. I looked them up on google . They look cute.
They are not really \'cute\', they are a very large member of the kingfisher family and have a very large cruel looking beak. I love them because they kill snakes !!!
Oh, really. The picture lied to me. LOL! They have to be tough to kill snakes. I do not like snakes.
