Greetings, Friends Old & New

Good morning from beautiful Bayfield, Colorado! This is my summer place where I used to come in my RV to stay from May to October. I can't recall if I ever mentioned it here, but in the Spring of 2020, I bought a little place down in Tucson (where I had been wintering since 2018). Then, a bit later that spring, I bought a place up here in Colorado. Sold the RV in 2021 and now I just drive my car on this twice yearly journey from place to place.

Life is pretty darned good! I turned (OMG) 72 in March and have been divorced for 18 years. Holy crap! That's almost as long as I was married! Anyway, me and my cats (Tango & Lilac) have been here at our summer home for a week and are pretty much all settled in. Anxiously waiting for the weather to warm up -- it's been downright COLD the last two nights -- but the bright Rocky Mountain sunshine lifts our spirits even when the temperature isn't great.

A long-time friend from DS has come to visit me twice in my Tucson home. What a wonderful time we have had and I'm hoping she will continue to make the trip out to see me again.

I am still single and I think that's where I want to remain. While I have a couple of men whom I date in Tucson, our relationships are purely platonic. Fine with me! At this point in my life, I'm not sure I could stand having a man underfoot 24/7. And if I want to have cornflakes for dinner, that's ok, too. I enjoy the company of men, but don't really want anything more than companionship.

Hopefully, some of my old friends from DS will read and respond to this Journal. I often wonder what has become of all us old-timers who found hope and healing here.

xoxo Cowgirl Kathi

I don't consider 72 being an old timer but that's because I am almost there at 70...soon to be 71.
I think platonic relationships are the way to go since half of all marriages are over within 3 years. It takes time for us to let go of our ego and to learn how to love unconditional. By the way, the definition of unconditional love is allowing someone to do what they want to do, even if I disagree with it, and loving them just the same. It takes time to learn the wisdom and the patience to become that way. It sounds like you are one of us so keep on keeping on!...hugs

Hugs my dear friend. hehehe Gee, I know 18 years, wild and free. hehehe Those horrible, dark days are far behind us. I am with you, I do not want a man around 24/7 too. Dated a few but I belong to me now. I am turning 75 in August and having a hard time even comprehending that. I do not feel or look that old. hehehe Divorce after twenty site was taken down.

Great to hear from you! You were here when I was going through my separation and divorce. 2015! 10 years! I tried the dating thing but not for me. They didn’t want platonic which is what I was looking for at the time. So it’s God, me and whatever he wants me to do!
Your life sounds pretty great.
