Green Smiley Monday

I am working at my green smiley today, but am so grateful for all the blessings I do have in my life. I wish all of you a good and peaceful day.

That\'s the spirit, Linda! I have learned to know that whatever emotion is taking us over, or feelings, cannot, by the nature of their existence, stay. So when I am not good, depression, upset, anxious, etc.....I remind myself that it can only stay so long and eventually it will burn itself out. It\'s hard sometimes.....I had a rough last two days and I\'m sick, but Ifinally slept last night, so my green smiley face is there today!

Love,
Becky

It was very hard for many of us to write a \"green smiley monday\"...at first it seems so foreign and i was so uncomfortable with it...then I told myself a phrase that my piano teacher used to say to me when i was young...\"perfect practice makes perfect\"--this was in response to my justification that I did not need to practice...that I was comfortable with the piece of music...or that i had already practiced and refused to practice anymore...I remember her saying this to me very softly and went about the lesson...why I thought of that saying still miffs me sometimes, but it was drilled into my brain...and that was the brain fart that came out at that moment...
So I decided that I would find something to write about that was positive or at least write about a negative in a positive manner...
Well that was 4+ years ago...and after a while it started working...as I had to \"look\" for something positive to write about...guess it just got me to look at the positive things that were going on around me...
When you are grieving...so many things pass us by as we are in a cloud of grief and pain...sometimes it does give us a mental break just to see through different or fresh eyes once in a while...after a while seems like more \"happy\" things were happening...guess they were there all along...i just was not ready to see and appreciate them.
take care of you,
AnnM
