Green Smiley Monday

I'm going for the green smiley Monday just because. Things were better this weekend with the grandchildren. They & their mom were arguing a lot this past week, but seemed to have settled down. We spent some time with Ken's family for a 4oth birthday & some other functions - all good.
My mother continues to be cruel & demanding, which is not good but the green, smiley part is that I have decided that I am not going to put up with it anymore. I have gone through too much therapy and since Eddie passed don't have the time, inclination, patience or emotional resources to put up with her abuse any longer. I am done. I do not know exactly how that decision will look or play out but I am tired of her remarks, her 7am phone calls to complain & this weekend she wrote Joshua a nasty note & told Christina to "just get over it" and"that everyone dies" regarding her Dad's passing! My grandchildren are extremely fragile and I have told her not to make things any harder for them, but she is toxic.
So thanks for listening. I am making up my mind to have the best day I can & take care of myself. The understanding & validation I get here from all my dear sisters is invaluable.
Love and peace to all, Linda

Has your mother been evaluated ? (Medically and psychiatrically).
She has no right to be so cruel to you and the family. Be strong dear friend. we are always here for you.

I have a friend who \'divorced\' her toxic parents. It was hard but she is happier without them. I feel for you; mothers are supposed to be supportive, people you can depend on.
Hang in and I hope you are having a GREAT day! Be good to yourself.

Dear Linda E,
It\'s incredably sad, and hurtful, when mothers don\'t or can\'t show the love and support we need. I think this is especially so when our own mother hearts ache so for the children we loved so much and can no longer comfort. It makes it so much worse. And, one thing I\'ve found is that my tolerance for stupidity and meanness has gone down to nearly 0 since Jon died. Like you, I just do not have the patience for it. And I value love and kindness so much more than I did. Life is too short and fragile. I wish for you that your mother could change. But since she can\'t, I\'m glad you\'re making the choice to not tolerate her hurtfulness and mindlessness. Love, Linda J

It is so very hard when the people around you are so very unsupportive and to paraphrase everyone else \"toxic\". wow that is quite alot to deal with on top of greiving for your son.I am in awe that you are still able to put on a smiley face, I don\'t think i am strong enough to handle all that.
