Great Sunday
We had 98 at my little church today. We had a husband and wife saved and I was told that the message I preached today was the best one I had preached, in the 4-1/2 years the church has been open.
I have been under a lot stress lately with my friend dying, my sister having a stroke, my ex being transferred to Missouri and one of my best friends being diagnosed with Cancer.
I guess my message today included those friends of mine who have passed and those who have been diagnosed and are being treated for cancer.
God allowed me to lead this couple to the Lord today because He knew I needed a blessing to lift me up from all the happenings of this past week. I also drove 70 miles after church today to visit with another family who hadn't attended the church in quite a while. We shed tears together and they promised me they would be coming back. Family issues had caused them to get off track in life.
I don't know, sometimes I think I get too close to people. I hurt when they hurt and I am sad when they are sad. I love people and God called me to be a "shepherd" and I try my best to be there for everyone, anytime, any place, anywhere. My friend who died, was not a member of my church but, I stayed with his family and with him, till he went to be with the Lord. His Pastor was there with him and his family but, I felt I needed to be there too. I keep remembering the Great Apostle Paul's statement in Phillipian's , where he said "I can do all things, through Christ, which strengthens me". This is what I do. This is me. I realize I am "different" but, man didn't call me to preach, God did so, I preach, I love, and I serve.
