Great 2 days!

First of all, I just want to shout out - CONGRATULATIONS CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS!!!!  We haven't won a Stanley Cup in 49 years!  What a great thing for our city!  Ian and I met our friends out last night at our favorite bar (good thing there's no smoking in Illinois) and we had such a great time!  Being with all our friends and Chicago fans and watching the Hawks take it!  What a great night.  Our city was going crazy!  They had streets closed off, fireworks everywhere and on our way home, people honking horns all over the place, hanging out windows with signs and banners.  It was quite a site.  Ava was probably wondering what the heck was going on with all the noise and jumping around.  I can't wait to tell her when she's older that she was in my belly when this little piece of history took place.

Secondly, I had a bit of a surprise yesterday.  My work threw me a surprise baby shower!   I must have turned 10 shades of red when I walked in the lunch room. I was so shocked.  Mostly because I've only been there barely a year, and it's just not something I've seen them do for other people.  It was so nice.  They had a complete lunch spread, cake/ice cream, balloons, decorations and gifts.  The leftover money everyone pitched was put in my card.   The gifts were not chosen from my registry, but stuff I actually didn't get too much of at my shower, like bibs, onesies, bath and accessories.  They also got this beautiful birth certificate holder and a cute little tooth holder for when she loses her first tooth.  So cute!  I was pleasantly surprised.

Lastly, my girlfriends have decided to start a bet as to Ava's arrival and length.  They all threw in $5.00 and picked a date and length.  If I end up with a scheduled c-section date, they're going to go by the length.  So they gathered guesses and sent me the spreadsheet.  How fun!

Tonight is evening #2 of 3 of our labor and birthing classes.  It's a 3 hour class that goes from 6:30 to 9:30.  Last week, we got a tour of the hospital; labor and deliver and the mother/child rooms.  My hospital just built a new tower and that's where I will be delivering and staying!  It is absolutely gorgeous!  I mean brand spankin new.  The rooms are all suites and they even have room service!  It's going to be like staying in a really expensive hotel!

And tomorrow is my 45 minute u/s.  Hopefully we'll know more about her size and if she is still breech.  I honestly think she is but we shall see.

Phew what a busy week this week!  It's so nice that I have nothing planned this weekend.  I hope to get my thank you cards done, finish up the nursery with window coverings and hang stuff on the walls and just RELAX! Can't wait!
