Gratitude: week 4
3/12/14: hope. I am grateful that I can still hope. Hope for the future, filled with love. Whether it be romantic love, parental love, grandma love, love of friends, love of space, love of time....that is yet to be determined. But I hope to see a LOT of love in my future.
3/13/14: dreams fulfilled. It may be egotistical, but I know that I fulfilled at least one of my husband's dreams. Shortly after Mark died, I found a picture he had given to me while we were dating. Most of the writing on the back is faded, but you can read the line that says, "My dream now is to spend the rest of my life with you". He did. :)
3/14/14: choices. The freedom to choose what to want to eat, how much wine to drink, which movie to watch. If I choice between "little" things, maybe some of the bigger choices I am going to need to make won't seem so daunting. :)
3/15/14: 24 hours without my cell phone. Imagine...a whole day where no one could call or text, possibly interrupting what I might be in the middle of. If there had been an emergency, there were other ways to reach me. Maybe I should "forget" my phone more often!
3/16/14: inspiration. For a few weeks now, I have wanted to start writing again. Poems, short stories, essays.....whatever. I used to love to write (before being if mom of eight who worked full time outside the house and had an ill hubby to care for). Then, today, an old friend offered a challenge for research on a project he is working on. He listed some sayings making their way around the Internet and is looking for feedback on them. What a great way to get back into writing mode! I am SOOOOO excited!
3/17/14: minor holidays. St Patrick's Day brought me some smilies. Like green ice water at the bowling alley, people dressed up and waving while walking down the street, my daughter with her orange hair and green shirt who comes home from school and tells me her friends wanted pics with her (cuz she looked like a leprechaun). :)
3/18/14: walking in the fresh air. There is nothing like a walk in the fresh morning air to brighten my mood. It gives me time to think, enjoy and appreciate nature, listen to music, and just BE.
