Granddaughter's 1st birthday

I went on Facebook and my niece showed pictures of my granddaughter's first birthday party.  I have never even held her and she's already a year old.  My daughter is standing there with this huge smile on her face holding her baby and I think, doesn't she miss us at all?  Doesn't she want us to be there?  There's one picture of my granddaughter laughing that looks exactly like her mom.  If we were speaking to each other I would show her the picture.
