GrandChildren ain't they Grand
We had a "quiet" night last night. Our Little Lydna Grace was a might upset. Suellen, her older sister by 13 months, got to go on a night time school field trip with Mom, big sis(19) and cousin, Noah. Noah is in the same grade as Suzy. This was a school function. So Lynda couldn't go as she is only in the 2nd grade and it was a 3rd grade function.
She was asked if she wanted to stay home with Dad or come to Grandpa and Grandma's. Well, Little Miss Giggles decided to come to our house to play. But there were conditions!!!!!!!!!! She HAD to have popcorn with Grandpa and she Had to help Grandma with a Search and find Puzzle. Very easy requests as Grandpa likes his popcorn and Grandma is usually working on a puzzle. However Grandpa wanted to watch "Ice Age" while he ate his popcorn. Do you think, Lynda. that would be okay? Giggle giggle with vigorous head nods led us to believe this was acceptable.
Sos we settled down to watch Ice Age and Miss Giggles got several treats she would normally not get at Grandma's house. The animals at Grandma's house are not use to little ones and when we have them (the little ones) over it is usually enmass (all 8) and it gets noisey and rambuncious and 3 of the 4 kitties hide. Thomas, our Black and white, must be petted at all costs so you will uaually find him amoungst the quietest group. Thatcher, the 10 inch tall, biggest dog on the block, must suppervise all goings on. Some one might drop something good.
I got a little sidetracked there in way of explanation. Sos we settled down to watch Ice Age and Miss Giggles got several treats she would normally not get at Grandma's house. Thatcher jumps up on the couch recliner by Grandpa's feet (there is food involved here) and we all settle in. Chelsea Lynn (the white kitty with her heart on her.....) climbed into my lap as Lynda's eyes grew big. She has only gotten to pet Chelsea once or twice before. Lynda's looked up at me with the question in those big blue eyes. Grandma whispered softly. "Go slow and gentle and she will let you pet her." It is rare for Chelsea to sit still for long. She hates it when you move. She will sit on you forever if you don't move. So Lynda got to pet Chelsea for quite awhile until my back said I had to move.
Then the biggest treat of all, besides movie night with Grandpa and Grandma. Andrew James came to visit. Andy is the biggest Russian Blue I personally have ever seen. Andy is also the BIGGEST coward I have ever seen. Someone walks into this house and he will be so far under the bed you couldn't reach him for nuttin'. He is a very loving cat. He can be an attention hog. But normally only if your name is Dennis or Elsie, Ken or Shawna or possibly Jackie. These are the only people allowed to pet Andy on a regular basis. Anyway Andy came and jumped up on the couch and much to Little Miss Lynda's delighted surprise layed his frount half across her lap. (that is all that would fix on her lap). She was in seventh Heaven for about 5 minutes. (He is heavy and she is little) She figgited and he ran.
After the movie ended we still had time to play a bit on Grandma's puzzle before Mom, Cassie, and Suzy go back. Lynda has much better eyes than Grandma and found lots of items in the puzzle.
Then Mom and sisters came and Grandma got a big surprise. They brought my little Noah with them. I say little even though he is nine because he is little. Still small enough to sit on Grandma's lap (sizewise). I rarely get to see Noah or his brother and sister. even though they live 5 blocks away. (long story--If your interested see my journal page Why do I have to be her new best friend). The first thing he did was roar at Lynda from inside is funny sweatshirt thingy. the like of I had never seen before. The second thing my little guy did was give me a hugh hug. He really held on. Thank God. So he edged in between Lynda and I and we all took turns helping with the puzzle. No one seemed to mind because Lynda (The big sweet girl that she is) knows how little I get to see Noah and how hard it has been for both of us to form a relationship as little as we get to see each other.
Yes Grandkids is grand and I Praise God each day for mine.
Love 'n hugs Y'all
