Grandaughter's Drama
After such a nice weekend, my grandaughter got kicked out of her Catholic high school. She is a senior and 18. She has had a feud with a girl for over a year. It's always give and take. Innocent stuff, TB her house, general talking about each other. Seems the girl was spreading rumors about my grandaughter and she posted on Facebook, that she better watch her mouth, and called her a blonde slut. One of her friends was egging her on, said, if she wouldn't kick her butt, she would. My grandaughter said "go ahead, I want to go to my prom" I think she was trying to ride the fence, act tuff infront of her friend, but not really threaten the girl.
Anyway, they had a meeting this morning, asked if she used the school's lap top to go on facebook, and she said yes. Her dad thinks that's why they want her out. They are calling it bullying. I know it's a big problem in schools, but I think this is more catty little girls. I think they want to make an example of her. She is not a violent person at all. She's gone to Catholic school her whole life. She has never been in trouble before.
She brought up the fact, that her gramps isn't here anymore for her to talk to. He always listened to her, told her, he would pick her up anywhere, with no questions asked, if she was ever in a situation she didn't like.
I really think she needs to see a counselor, she saw the school one a couple of times, but she really doesn't talk about my husband much. They were very close. We pracitally raised her until she was around 8.
I want to help, but don't know how. I offered to help her pay for school, and wanted her to pick one, she thought she would be happy at. She said she would have to go wherever her dad said. I told her, she's 18 and she should have some say in it.
I pray that this doesn't effect her desire to go to college. She has been taking her SATs over and over, trying to get a better score.
I guess we all have to go thru this up and downs, but I miss my husband so much. I really need him to help.
