Grand Opening

The woman trying to help me get a business going said that I will have to have a location and web page. I kind of agree, but there are a few obstacles I need to overcome. One is that she thinks that I should have a grand opening, and I'm concerned about that. I'm uncomfortable with a bunch of total strangers clomping through my house. * We've just gone through a really bad winter, and everything is a mess.  a) The shop was closed all winter, as we had no parking, and my brother has stored a great deal of junk all over the floor. It is a real mess. b) The roof of the shop sprung a leak, which I have to wait for a little more snow to melt before I can get up there to even look at it, but it stained the ceiling and part of the wall is ruined. I can do the repairs myself, however, it will take some time. c) We've been working in the kitchen to clean, prepare, photograph, and otherwise process items for sale on ebay. Also, we were given a wood stove that we cannot use and it is in the middle of the kitchen floor. I cannot move it alone, and I've asked dozens of times for help, but never received any, to move it out into the barn. I am planning to sell it in order to raise some money to get a proper one for the kitchen, as it will save alot of money on heat, and need to get moving on that. d) The kitchen roof sprung a leak, and see item b. e) The barn roof has collapsed slightly in one spot, which really needs to be repaired, and I do notbelieve that I can do this myself and will need to get someone in to shore it up (at great expense, I fear). f) The part of the barn which will be used for the yard sale portion of our business needs to be arranged in some way. It is a real mess now. g) I fear that I am going to have to do all this physical work by myself, as he never helps me with anything I feel is necessary. He has his own agenda, and whenever I request help with anything he tells me that I have to work on the priorities and now what I want to get done. So, he ends up doing something like pulling the weeds out of the drainage ditch while I build shelving (by myself); or cutting twigs down to stove lengths (even though we don't have a working wood stove at the moment), while I shift tons of whatever needs shifting by myself. h) The plumbing in the house needs a complete overhaul. The bathroom sink needs to be replaced, the kitchen drain needs to be replaced, etc. I can't let strangers use the bathroom if they cannot wash their hands, can I? I'm not comfortable with the way that the house, shop, barn, or yard looks at the moment. There is alot of cleaning and arranging that needs to be done. I need to get the barn in order before we have yard sales and I need to get the shop repaired and in order before we can open the shop. And, more importantly, I need to get the house clean before inviting anyone inside!
