gotta get outa the slump
I can't believe how quickly I relapse when T does. He definitely is doing something - not sure what - not sure if anythng is going to show up on drug tests. He has a new gf who is bad news. One reason I know is he doesn't talk about her, very secretive. He also is acting very surly and I react. I have to find a way to not do so, even though part of it is his using behavior, my reaction to is hurtin our relationship. I just get frustrated because he thinks he's running the show. He takes off whenever he pleases without even informing, let alone asking us if he's allowed and all I can say is - why isn't anything showing up in the screens? Maybe yesterday's might, being that I know he had to have done something! Husband hardly around and when he is - he is so laid back. The counselor suggested I put the parenting stuff more on my hubby. If he were here more - I could and would. I promised myself that I will step back from now on and not set up anything with his tutor anymore. I know all along that he should have been doing it but the tutoring does involve me - since I sit for the tutor's kids during that time. Anyway, I put the phone # on the frig., if he wants it, fine. He claims he does want to finish up Chemistry but he isn't doing it. He has less than 2 weeks to finish (teacher gave him an extention) but I really don't think it's gonna happen. I can't believe he would go through all this trouble to be tutored hour after hour only to give up. If he does finish, he won't have to go an extra, extra semester. At this rate - I don't think he's going to even go next fall. But - since he's smart, creative, and very social - I believe one day he will find his way. I've heard many inspirational stories of people's struggles and how and why they overcame them. I have to believe that this will happen to him, too.
