gotta avoid hometown stores
The downtown of my hometown rural slum is like a ghost town, with lots of the buildings that had stores in them when I was a kid now for rent of for sale----and not because of walmart 2 miles out of town, but more likely of trashy people in downtown.
Today I made the eternal mistake of going into my neighborhood grocery store when the cashier who is unfriendly to me was on her shift: I try to avoid her, but I was in the mood to get a money order for my rent on July 4 when post office was closed, and I thought I could shrug off her unfriendliness.
I'm used to her saying good morning or have a nice day to people in front or in back of me, while being silent to me----but today I got a money order for my rent, and she starts talking to the customer in back of me about her rent, with pathetic me saying how the money order was for my rent, as I grabbed stuff I bought with the money order.
To everybody else this would seem like making a mountain out of a mole hill, but years of this, from this cashier and an unfriendly cashier at another store in town...I just have to forever avoid these two, and have the patience to wait hours for when others take over their shifts.
This cashier has relatives who are always in trouble, with me sometimes complaining about the bad news people in general, in town, for me to get nasty looks from some people. Thankfully, a lot of the bad news crowd in downtown have migrated somewhere else; it was a major ordeal to have to wade through angry looking drunks and addicts loitering about every time I went to a nearby small store. That's why I enjoy biking 2 miles away to walmart----it's a totally different, UPBEAT, environment.
Been a looong July 4 holiday for me, by 10 in the morning; cant wait till tomorrow to bike a mile or so to lowes for something, by 7 in morning.

What is that cashier\'s problem anyway?
just a redneck inbred town in which people like me shouldn\'t complain to others about some of the bad news relatives in town...i\'ll go back to avoiding her like the plague she is.
Rich and I lived near some ppl like that when we were first dating and married. That area does not even exist any more. Paved over with highways and development. Not that I love development but good riddance to those neighbors I say.
Take back your power !!!! Don\'t let the petty actions or words of people who ain\'t worth S--- ruin your day or alter your self-esteem.

I just got stuck in same situation today, by accident, though it forced me out of my kinda seclusion to go to same store later when nicer cashiers on another shift, and to library where, hours later, the lady librarian held the entrance door open for myself and other male customers, after she unlocked it to let us in.
