Got Thru it
I got thru my birthday Oct 4. Many friends helped to see that I was busy. My night crew took me to breakfast after work. Karina's high school girl friend brought a gift and flowers. etc etc. But I know Karina's birthday in Dec will be the hardest day in a while. I am planning my own private little ceremony at the cemetary.

Every holiday, every occasion, even just family dinners, emphasizes our loss. My son was a suicide in March 2011 -- 2 months before your daughter. I find I\'m getting a little better now than I was, but only a little. I can\'t imagine ever being OK again. I don\'t get plagued quite as much by the \"if only\'s\" or the \"why\'s\". I try very hard to put them to rest because I can\'t change what happened so what choice do I have. I\'m sending you prayers for peace in your heart. I know that\'s what we all need most. Sending love, Terry
Your birthday sounds lovely, And Karina\'s will be difficult,, we had our friends here, a small cake and a balloon release for Morgan,,,I hope to keep our little celebration going every year. Nora
I understand how difficult these tender days can be. It feels as if it unfolded gently and to have a plan for December is a good thing and to know that it can be fluid and change too depending upon how you are feeling. Each year we seem to do something a little different on my son\'s birthday and some like to carry on a certain tradition. Just do what feels healing for you...
Gentle care to you this day and happy belated birthday.
Hugs, Joanie
