Got A Ton of Meat today
Okay, so that's a funny title for a journal, but I really did get a ton of meat today. I got like 50 pounds of meat... 20 pounds of chicken, 10 pounds of hamburger, 5 pounds of hot dogs and about 10 pounds of pork shoulder. That's a lot of meat! We are going to be set for the rest of the month with all that. I went to this place where they sell meat to the restaurants since Geo's stepmom has a card for there. They had 100 pound bags of rice, there too! I was amazed to see so much rice, and then we get out to the parking lot and there's this guy loading *two* of them into the back of his truck. My jaw hit the floor. He must own some sort of Spanish restaurant where he makes rice and nothing but rice lol! I did have fun at the store, though. It was good to get out of the house. I also got to spend a bit of time with Geo's stepmom and family which was nice. I haven't seen them in a while, so I'm not tired of them LOL! I do get tired of people when I see them a lot when I'm not used to it. I don't get tired of Geo, don't worry. I think we might go over there tomorrow to see them for Labor Day since his dad has the day off. His dad has been working a ton (6 12-hour days on, 2 days off) for the past couple of weeks, so he deserves some good time off. I don't envy the work, but I do envy the pay! Overtime is sweet.
I've been in a good mood again today. I think I'm going through mood swings, up and down. I've been pretty good today, not too high up and having a decent bit of energy but not hypomanic. I slept really well last night, got 12 hours of good sleep and felt energized all day. I woke up at 9:30am and didn't even take a nap or go back to sleep. Well, I got less than 12 hours of sleep, actually, more like 11.5 but still enough. I don't work tomorrow, so I have another day to sleep, and then a short week next week. I have to work on Tuesday... I may come in on Thursday if they need me since I'm going to be short on hours since I didn't come in on Monday. Not like it matters since I'm a volunteer, but I want to contribute as much as I can. Especially since they make me feel good there. I need all the mood boosters I can going into October and the winter beyond. I like the weather here in the winter, it gets nice and cool for a couple of days instead of the crazy heat that we get all spring, summer and fall and it should be nice enough for me to go for nice long walks without having to drink 2 gallons of water (okay, that's a bit exaggerated, but still) while outside. I do sweat a lot, so I do need to drink a lot when it's hot outside. I like walking, and I hope I can go for a nice walk tomorrow and sign the paper I need to. I was going to today, but I was out getting the meat, and then by the time I got back home it was *pouring* rain and I didn't want to walk to the office in the rain, so I'm going to sign it tomorrow.
I'm wondering what these mood swings mean. I've been up one day, down the next. I don't want to over think it and start getting depressed tomorrow just because I'm supposed to be depressed. I'm still taking my Celexa, so that's good. I think it's working for the most part- since I've been on it and the trazadone I've been a lot more stable. That's the combination they put me on in the hospital. I know I've been hallucinating lately, so I upped my Risperdal with my doctor's advice, and I need to make my appointment to follow up with him on Tuesday when the clinic is open. It's weird having things closed on Monday, since I want to get stuff done now. I've got stuff to do, isn't that great? I wish I could see my regular doctor, but he doesn't accept people without insurance and that's technically what I am now. I have to see one of my older doctors, one I used to see years ago. I stopped seeing him when he told me the only thing left for me was Depakote, and then funnily enough I come back to see him at the clinic and ask him for Depakote. I had to... there was nothing else I could do. I'm not suffering that bad on it, either. I managed to lose another pound this week despite being on it... I joined a fall challenge on spark people.com and I hope to lose 10 pounds in the 8 week contest. I've been losing about a pound a week, so that's about what I should be losing if I stay on track. It's hard losing weight on all these pills, but I'm determined to do it.
I was way under my calories again today... I made some good stir-fry for dinner with boneless skinless chicken breasts (no thighs tonight!) and it was awesome, but it wasn't enough calories like my normal dinner is. Well, even if I ate regular dinner I still would have been under my calories. I should have gotten something at the store that I could eat to fill my calories, but I wasn't thinking about it. I was just thinking about all the good food that they had there for the great prices. I'm just not hungry, though, so it's hard for me to eat when I'm not hungry. I had a chicken thigh and Reese's Puffs for breakfast, a Fiber One brownie and some ham for lunch and the stir-fry for dinner. Stress was low today, and I talked about mood and sleep above!
