Got a Little Bragging to Do...
Well, the kids' final report cards came in. My daughter's GPA went down just a little, but she still made honor roll. Her final exam grades were below expected, and that is because she wasn't expecting the exam to be on the whole year! (Though why she would think that, I'm not sure, since I'm sure the teacher did a review as they usually do.) So she's learned her lesson there.
My son, however...let me tell you about my son! He got a C+ in English 3 for 4th quarter, and for the year he ended up with a D-...a passing grade!! So he upheld his end of the bargain & has begun summer school for English 2 (more on that later). He also did really well in Algebra I (which is his 2nd go-round on that), and went from a D- in Chemistry to an A-!! He failed Psychology, but he can take another social-studies related elective next year. Overall, his 4th quarter GPA was 3.0! (His 1st 2 years, he never went over 2.0 & this year he's been in low 2's). How about that?
So, as I said, he's started summer school for his 3rd try at English 2. His teacher is the same one he started out his sophomore year with. I like her; she's no-nonsense without being mean. I really hope he passes this time. As I told him, if he doesn't he won't be able to graduate with his class.
Anyhow, on a personal note, he's been more on the sweet side lately. :)
Last week's vacation is done, obviously. That one day of solitude & peace did me good; just wish I could have had more. When you have a relatively small house with everyone falling all over each other & in each other's faces, that's kind of hard to do! I'll have some more "me" time later today, as I weed my garden!
