got a letter
Today it was a bit frustrating with T. Tutoring plans fell through because T didn't like the way we (tutor and I) changed them. I wanted to scream. Well, I DID raise my voice. T has missed so much school and now that he has the opportunity to recover what he missed - he's blowing it. Must let go. He's so close to finishing - been there before and then....bam! must let go... I just received an official looking letter from the school addressed to me.....not Mr. & Mrs. but to me. What could this be about? We receive mail every week informing us of another detention or two our son has earned over the course of the year that piles up due to past tarties or unexcused absenses but this one was only addressed to me. It was a letter inviting me to breakfast at the school. The middle school and high school administration along with other parents (I'm sure, who've been through the drug thing) are getting together to talk about the drug problem and brain storm, problem solve. The letter mentioned all the programs they have to try and combat this problem but "Regardless, the use of drugs increases and proliferates." So the school is asking for my help. I had some ideas a bit ago but now that I have this opportunity - I couldn't think of anything. Well, it didn't take me long. I am looking forward to this meeting. I hope what I propose is taken seriously and is helpful.
