Good Things
I'm feeling really good today. My girlfriend and I went a pride event yesterday which was lots of fun. She's usually not into that sort of thing and doesn't like the crowds, which I can understand. But she was up for it and I was excited to see a certain performer who was scheduled for later in the afternoon. I decided we should head out later so she wouldn't get bored or anxious and that seemd to work out well.
We also ran into a few of my co-workers who I had the pleasure of introducing her to and she was very friendly, sociable and animated when meeting them. It really makes me feel so good to see her at ease in those situations and feeling like she can hold her own. I know it bothers her that she isn't working and unable to get out of the house much so her social circle is very limited at the moment.
The event was rained out literally 5 minutes before the performer I wanted to see was scheduled to play. So we waited with some other fans for a bit and then lo and behold we saw our girl! She was waiting as well and hoping the rain would clear up. When it didn't she decided to do an impromptu acoustic set with her band! Pretty awesome show and such an intimate feel, it was really the perfect ending to our day.
But wait, it does get better! We went home to walk the dogs, change into dry clothes etc. Got a call from a friend asking to meet them out at a bar/club in the area. Usually my partner would not want to go out but she decided it would be fun and we went. Now, in the 7 years we have been together she has not once danced with me outside of our living room. When I walked into the bar I spotted a nice sized dancefloor and told my girl - I'm dancing tonight. With or without you, I'm going to have fun. I did and after a few songs she came out to join me! We had a few dances, she's not as bad as she thinks she is! haha. Overall a great night and I'm so thankful for her good mood and willingness to let loose a bit. Things are looking up :)
