Good Old Days

Just thinking about the good old days when you studied for a career and got a job in your field of study.  Now, you just don't know.  Technology is still taking away jobs and it's only a matter of time before people realize the good jobs aren't coming back.  Doesn't matter if Obama or some other president is in office.  You just can't bring back jobs when  technology was the one to take them. It's progress.
Like asking to bring the Pony Express back or the elevator operator, or the telephone switchboard person.   Not going to happen.  Ever.

I've got a college degree, but my field is gone.  I've got a sales background, but living on commission can be challenging.  I'm 56.  Too old to go back to college, and if I did.  Well, I see everyday young college graduates flipping burgers somewhere.  If I did go back, I woudn't graduate until I'm 61.  And then I'll have a big student loan to pay back.  And some employer saying you're too damn old for the job.
No thank you!

I am 61 now and retired. I got into customer service in my mid 20\'s and stayed with it thirty years. I\'ve had no college. Sorry to hear your career didn\'t work out. Ya just never know what life will throw at ya.
