Good ol' Apple Tree
As I was going out for the mail this afternoon, the apple tree next to the house started making a cracking noise. Every time I would look at it, it would quit, so I decided to sit a while and watch it. As I was reading the mail it kept cracking off and on. Of course when I would look to find where the cracking was coming from, it would stop. This went on for about half an hour.
Then the pastor next door, and another guy, came out to get in their cars. As I heard them talking, the cracking became more frequent. I began to think maybe it wasn't the apple tree at all, but something they were doing over there. Just as I was relaxing into that thought, the tree made a sound like a gunshot and down came a limb. The guy with the pastor let out big yell. I was laughing my butt off because of the way the tree kept holding on until they were there. Maybe trees get bored just standing around all the time.
I ran over to take a look. The pastor and the other guy were in their cars by then. The pastor, Mr. Smart Aleck, stopped and asked how I was going to get that limb down, it was still hanging from the tree. By the time they disappeared around the corner of my fence, the limb let go and hit the ground with a crash. Ha ha, that's how. Here's a few points for upbeatness, because I love that tree.

Oh how I love this! And yes, nature does suprise us at times! Glad the good ole tree let that branch go on it\'s own. Too bad the pastor and his friend weren\'t there to see it! Thank you so much for the upbeat story! Hugs and Love, Michele
That was hilarious!! I kept thinking the limb might fall on their cars!!
My daughter, who is clinically depressed, thought it was hilarious too. I forgot to mention it was just a limb that fell, she thought the whole tree came down. There would certainly be a lot more than yelling going on then. Hah!
I love how your mind thinks, Hugs!
Enjoyed the story of that tree and its experience. :-)~
:P
Hi there Sara - not spoken before just read your response to my question and had a look at your page - well hun you made me cry - I have lost loved ones (not husband) but if he goes before me I won\'t have family - have a daughter aged 45 who fell out with her Dad big time years ago - and decided to cut me out too - she has 4 grandchildren oldest 18 whom I have never met. Your pain comes through sooooo clear - I most nights talk to my angels when I get in bed and say to just let me go and join my mum as I do believe in the afterlife.
Your story bout the tree if lovely but I wonder if the cracking is someone trying to speak to you that is how they will try.
Don\'t feel alone, there is always someone on here that will help, I love this site.
Thinking of you
