Good New

Finally have some good news to report.  I found a part-time job.  I didn’t want to say anything till it was final.  I have had so many disappointments.  The name of the company is Before Sheetrock.  It is working in the design center for new home builders.  It is not so much the fun stuff like carpeting and tile and such, it is termite treated wood, built in speakers, surround sound, air filtration, extra phone jacks and computer jacks etc.  It will be 2-3 days a week.  It is a commission job but you do get a $10.00 per hour draw.  It is a little further than I would like because of the gas (now I sound like my family) he he, but it is 22 miles.  Hopefully I can make enough to make up for it.  I have been in sales my entire working life so I should do okay.  I talked to my “Big Brother” and he did make me feel better about my trip to NJ, but I still feel a little uncomfortable about it.  I still feel like I am being a burden.  I never expected to feel that way.  I would have thought they would be so happy to see me after what I have been through.  I do have a life threatening disease as you all know.  Another thing is, I planned my date around my cousin Lorraine being there up from FL. Staying with her sister Barbara.  Barbara emailed me to say she would have a get together at her house with as many of the relatives as possible.  I thought how great.  I’ll get to see everyone in one place.  As it turns out she is having it on the 23rd.  I’ll be gone by then.  Barbara said it is one of her grandchildren’s birthdays the weekend before so she couldn’t have it then.  I was extremely disappointed.  But like I said to my niece it never really was about me anyway, it was about Lorraine.  So be it.  My new job is going to put a little bit of a crimp in my exercise routine, but I will squeeze as much in as possible.  I will be glad to be working again.  Truth be known I have been pretty bored, since I have been feeling so good.  That’s it for now.  Talk to you later  Anita

Great news about the job, especially as you are so ready for it. I hope it goes really well for you and I will look forward to hearing all about it. Seems like life is going up a gear for you, just when you wanted it too. So pleased you are happy with that and that you are feeling so fit and able now.. So encouraging to folk like me.. Thanks again.

Bloomin\' family.. I would like to think that when you do get to see them that it will not be awkward for any of you and that the fears and doubts get blown away. I\'m sure you would pull them up rather than let them pull you down. Don\'t take on too much though, the job will take it out for you for a while..

All the best to you.. Inka xxx

Thank you all so much. Inka you will be where I am in no time at all. I cannot believe it has been almost 6 months since the end of my chemo. The time has gone by so fast. I have my next appt. on July 2nd. Not stressing yet, but I am sure I will.

I don\'t think it will be awkward, but I do plan on offering gas money.

wow, how amasing, working and getting your mind of yourself. my mothers church friend when she had bowel cancer focused on others, and it was not about her as she said. she died a few years ago. she did not know she had it until she started getting diareah and blood from her bowl and then went to the doctors and was given 3 months to live. she went away for three months and came back and teh last 3 months of her life was painfull and excrusiating, and her guts was very large from her bowel. she is now in Heaven with her Lord and Saviour Jesus, and when she was alive she was a very strong christian who loved and obeyd the Lord, she finished her race. Awsome to see Anitaama that you can still get out there and go get em. I heard about this cricked players wife on the weekend who fought breast cancer for 11 years but before she died on the weekend unfortunaty, she was so positive even though she was sick, she campaingied for breast caner and did a lot of work throught the breast cancer society and was always uplifting others and patients who have it. she will be rememberd, and she has left behnd 2 kids and a husband. so God bless you anitanma for your coragous effort. Keep up the good work and I hope others can learn from this, as it is not all about them, Leanne

Congratulations ! you make it look easy the way you do manage to get things done when you need to do it . I hope there will be loads of commission to make up for the travel ! So good to see you go forward after the chemo and sort out everything .
I am so sorry about you missing the family get-together , it is no doubt disappointing , but there will hopefully be other opportunities in future and your presence no doubt will be a great comfort to your brothers family especially if your sister-in-law is not being very well .
Loads of love and hugs .................Monica

I know the feeling about family........I have some members who live in the same town but don\'t visit me and only call me when they need something.............our lives are too busy......guess that happens............I do know they love me...........it is just that way............strange but so.............I think we get too absorbed in our own worlds and problems and forget the really important things like family, love and visiting each other on a regular basis............oh, well............I feel for ya!!! Your new job will fill your mind and help you..........and relieve the boredom!!! Hugs!!!

I don\'t mean to give the wrong idea about my family. They normally are very warm and loving people. I just think this gas situation has got everyone\'s panties in a wad.

I start my new job tomorrow. I work Wed, Thurs and Fri this week. Next week it will be Mon & Tues. It is different every week. I will just have to play it by ear as far as my classes at the gym.

Tomorrow is Christian\'s Birthday. He will be two. Family party on Sat. I bought him a big blow up pool and a pair of tennis shoes.

Good for you-I am so happy about your new job. I have come to the realization that part of the reason my family is acting the way they are-especially my brother-is that they don\'t want to acknowledge the fact that I may die in the next year or so. So if they pretend that I will be around forever, then they don\'t have to face reality. So I just deal with it the best I can and try not to internalize it. I hope you have a satifying visit with your family, although since they knew when you were going to be there, it seems that they could have planned the big get-together a little better. Have fun! Linda
