Good morning everyone!!
Good morning everyone!! I am feeling horrible this morning, feeling kind of imprisoned...I guess it's from all the time I spend by myself, but I don't know what I can do about it because I have a social anxiety disorder in addition to a husband that spends money that we don't even have yet. Sometimes I think back and reflect on how I have lived my life and how I have lived in the past, and wonder what went wrong. I have been trying to make friends, but it is so hard to know who I can trust. I wonder why some people are so fake, and wonder how they can live that way!! The only friends that I have, that won't judge me are the friends that I have here, but they don't know much about me, except for what I've shared with them. I guess I would have to say that my best friend is my husband and I know that he doesn't like to share me with the rest of the world, which is isolating, but I keep having to remind myself that I put myself in this position.

I have social anxiety disorder as well and often feel isolated because of it. It's difficult because I want to make friends, but I am scared to put myself out there. I am guessing it is the same way for you. I think the only thing we can do is push ourselves to get out there where we can make friends. As for your husband, he should learn to share you with friends.
Thank you for reading my journal entry and thanks for your advice. It is so hard for me to find detailed people who understand what I go through day to day, most people think that social anxiety doesn'the exist or they think that I am just crazy and trying to make an excuse for not getting out of the house. It'seems such an isolating disorder!! I used to work as a security officer and I also used to work in the retail field and in both professions I used to have to talk to people all the time, but 3ver since this anxiety disorder reared it'seems ugly little head I haven'the felt comfortable taking to people AT ALL. It sometimes causes me to not go to places where people will try to talk to me (like salespeople).. i've come to the point where I depend on my significant other to take me to places, where I know people will try to make small talk with me. It'seems a tall order, but he loves me anyways. Yes I know that he needs to learn how to share me with the restr of the world (on my terms, of course)), but for now, it works. It used to work better in the pastonishing because we worked at the same compay together.
a social anxiety disorder is real. I had one that lasted a few years. luckily my bipolar meds have helped me with most of it. having school aged children in activities keeps me in touch with people but I find that I only talk to a few people anymore. I used to go out of my way to talk to others but not so much anymore. It takes time and baby steps. Don't try to beat this all at once. Go to one small store weekly at the same time and make small talk with the person working there. It could be a coffee shop and you talk to the barista, it could be a pet shop. Go somewhere where there is a reason for you to go. Baby steps
