good for now

J seems to be doing well for now.  He's refusing to take his anti-depressant because he says it has been making him very, very tired.  I can attest to that because all he's been doing is laying on the couch.  Perhaps the meds jump started him?  His drinking seems to have lessened too.  He was up very early this morning with my husband and off they went to ref some soccer games.  Yesterday J went grocery shopping and bought all kinds of food to cook some fun meals.  He found that he enjoys cooking and now he's back at it.  He also went and worked out with a trainer yesterday and played tennis.  It's good to see him in a good place right now ~ so I will take this moment and relish it.  One day at a time!
I'm so excited about my advocacy work!  I have an idea or more like a BIG dream and hope that it will become a reality.  Every person I've told my idea to ~ eyes light up!  I can't share it right now for a number of reasons but I will if it looks like it's going somewhere.  It's been a great diversion, if anything.
In the meantime I am looking forward to presenting to the middle school and to being on the discussion panel at a convention.  Actually - scared out of my wits about the panel but part of it is I don't know what I'm doing yet.  Oh - and yesterday I met with "our" local high school principal.  We have a long history with him when he was the assistant principal.  Little did I know at the time that we would be working together to help other kids.  He's so passionate about it that we ended up talking for nearly 2 hours!  His new assistant is great too.  He said that he wished he had a parent like me to help the kids.  Maybe that's why I think he's great. LOL!
I have a lot going on right now and I hope I can manage it okay. This month has been and will be very challenging.  Between our son's hospitalization, me teaching, traveling to another state to tour an adolescent treatment center, a gyn appt, my 3 hour pre-op appt, T having to go to court for his underage drinking charge, our oldest son losing his job,  and T having his wisdom teeth out ~ am I forgetting anything? I hope not - that's enough!  LOL.
Today is good.  I'm enjoying it .........

So glad to see a happy post from you. Keep on keepin\' on, and I hope your son\'s depression is lifted. Actually, good food is super good for his conditions. I hope he can find a different med that won\'t tire him out so, but this one at least lifted him up and out for a while.
My son is doing pretty well, also, and I\'m going to work with him at the hospital about getting a charity letter for the 9/2010 hospital stay. Meanwhile, very busy at the condos with the construction crew finally coming on Monday for deck rehab--a big project, and I hope all goes well and holding my fingers crossed as I am a homeowner liaison.
