Good,Bad,Happy,Sad & Stuff

Where do I begin.
I still so miss my Callie but her half of me is accepting she's gone & the wound is scaring over.  Both hubby & I still so feel her around the house but alas.  We picked up her ashes & they gave me a little clay disk paw print of hers with her name above it & a beautiful certificate with a lovely yet so sad saying on it.
You know, I've learned over yrs now that the Lord will use us to aid him when he needs to & I've also learned that this assignments can really leave you wondering and/or doubting yourself on many different levels.  Some might remember last Oct how hubby & I rounded up a total 12 cats consisting of mothers and kittens.  The weather was against up most of the time & we were some days just almost physically done for but we both knew in our hearts that we were meant to take care of those cats & kittens for him & we did feel so good when all was said & done.
Well, twice in the last month, believe it or not, I was assigned another angel duty & I hate to refer to it as angel of death duty but I can't think at this moment what to call it.  A couple of wks back I had parked the car & was walking up the block to my yoga class & on beside the sidewalk was part of a cardboard box & I could see part of a cat in it.  Well you know me, I froze & then knew I had to go over & check & see if it was dead or alive.  It had passed, had been hit by a car a few hrs before.  I stood there realizing that I had left my cell ph at home & I was just asking the Lord how he wanted me to handle this when a car pulled up, parked & a guy got out.  I got his attention, explained the situation, confirmed the cat had passed & he told me not to worry, he was going into his hair salon up the street & would call someone right away.  Boy was I relieved that I had an assistant angel assigned for that one.
Today we're coming home fr the cat shelter & on this busy street I noticed an elderly man with a walker on the road & as we were driving past I also noticed a cat lying on the road.  I made a comment abt it & we drove on but within a few blocks hubby all of a sudden said "do you want to go back".  I right away said I really would as I'd like to know if it's injured or dead or whatever & not leave it almost in the middle of the road with all that traffic.  We turned around & went back & I noticed the man had moved it onto the grass beside the road.  We parked the car, I went over.  It had passed but I could tell just really recently.  The man noticed me & opened his door.  I went over to talk to him & he told me was trying to get a hold of someone fr the city to see abt having it moved.  I asked him if he had some bags, paper, plastic whatever that I could at least wrap the poor thing in & he gave me a large paper bag.  I wrapped it as best I could.  I told hubby the poor cat has passed & the old man was desparately trying to reach someone.  Well good old us, neither of us could stand seeing that poor beautiful cat have to leave the earth without any caring and/or understanding.  So we wrapped it in plastic we found, put it in the back of the car & drove to our Humane Society, explained the story & they said we could definitely let them take of him.  I told them it was definitely a pet as it was in good shape & I had not checked for any ID which they said they would do.
OK maybe I'm really really weird.  But on the way home we both truly felt in our hearts that the Lord was pleased & for some reason he felt we were the ones to handle that.  Even that poor car deserved to leave this world with some love & caring.
OK, I've been having major health ups & downs for a few wks.  Had some digestive/intestinal issues.  Doc has done a bunch of tests & I'll get the results in abt a wk & a half but he did say it's possible I had a bug that was going around.  It was strange cause it was just digestive/intestinal related.  But the lupus side of things has been a real up & down roller coaster & I guess I shd admit that that could come into play here too.  I see my rheumy on Fri a.m. & I'm thinking he won't be completely happy with me but I'll just keep on fighting - right!
My dad's in the middle of radiation treatments this wk.  He has one every day.  His prostate cancer although responded well to the brachy therapy he had, there were some issues that spread outside the prostate so we're dealing with that.  I don't know what more I can say then I just accept each day for what it has or has not & keep walking on.
Well I guess I'll sign off for now.  I so love all of you who take minutes fr your day to check on my life.

I\'m so sorry you are feeling badly. I hope it is just a virus and passes quickly! I do know that lupus can affect my digestion but it is usually just stress and caffeine related for me. Please keep us posted on that OK?
I know it\'s hard to watch your dad declining and hearing that kind of news. I pray that you and he find comfort and healing in God\'s presence today. : )

I hope you feeling better soon, You are such a wonderful person to help the cats like you do. I love reading what you have been doing for them. It is not so nice seeing animals that have been run over. I could not handle that at all. Lots of hugs for your Callie, I know how you are feeling with this. It is like that for Wendy, Half of me wants her back and the other half is saying she is happy now. Hugs xx
