Going to try to stay awake today
Yesterday all I did was sleep. I got up with hubby at 6:30am to keep him company while he got ready for work, and as soon as he was out the door at 8am, I headed back to bed. I drug myself out of bed at noon and fed the dogs breakfast and had my daughter put the poor goats out. After about 30 minutes she looked at me and suggested I just go back to bed - which I managed to put off for about an hour. Then I slept for another five hours.
That put me awake just in time to open the front gate for hubby getting home from work. My daughter made everyone some dinner - even me!! I actually had a real plate of food. OK, it was a small chicken breast, baked with garlic and pepper with a big pile of boiled veggies, but it was more food in one day than I have eaten since being on this diet. And it promptly made me quite ill. Sigh.
Once I was no longer going to throw up, Hubby sent me to bed, but he came in with me and massaged my head until I fell asleep. All told yesterday, I was awake for about five hours.
Today I am hoping to be a bit more awake and less ill. hey, I can always hope. Right now the air conditioner is running because otherwise it will be too hot in the house to be in this afternoon - but I am in a jacket and wrapped in a heavy wool blanket and shivering.
One week down. One more week of diet then we start the RAI stuff. Next Firday is the first pill so they can do the scan on Monday. Then Tuesday is the real dose of radiated iodine. I have heard conflicting views on if I get to eat normal at that point or not, so I will have to talk to the Dr and find out what he wants.
I can survive anything for two more weeks.
Oh, and here and there my voice is back. It is not all the time, but for up to 30 minutes every few days I have a real voice!!!
I have just given up on my plans to get the house clean this summer. It is just not going to happen. Getting my back pain under control is also out the window. I have been taking my full doses of pain killers because not just my back hurts, but every joint in my body hurts - I read somewhere that one of the symptoms of hypothyroid is fibromalagya. Which is sort of sad when I think of the years that my sister was treated for FB on morhpine and it turned out to the Thyroid cancer instead. Don't know if the treatment worked as she died of an OD shortly after being diagnosed.
Anyway, eating my dry Cheerios and drinking my Pepsi for breakfast.
One more week.

So sorry to hear all you have to go through for this cancer. Seems by now there would be a better treatment. Hang in her yadlim. You are in my prayers during this time. Sorry to read about your Sister too.
