Going into Week 8 and alls well
So back from my whirlwind trip down the east coast, ok while to Delaware and back. Despite our giving the trip 4+ days it still flew by, I didn’t sleep/rest or eat right so I am SO feeling it. Now it could be a general PG feeling crappy thing, newest in the line of wonderful yet albeit challenging symptoms, but it’ll take a couple days to find that one out. We had the second ultra sound and met with our RE. The ultrasound went great, baby’s a good size and we have a heartbeat, nice and strong. It was incredible! I could barely see anything I was just streaming tears but I made out that fluttering. My DH stood there with the look on his face, poor thing had no idea what he was looking at, he said after that he saw the beating and that’s all that mattered to him right now. The meeting with my RE was a bit bittersweet though. The awesome part was that we’re doing well enough to “graduate” but also meant saying goodbye for now at least. She already gave us a speech on not waiting on #2, which she warned me she would. Told us about how thrilled she was that this all worked out and assured me that she felt very confident about this pregnancy, gave us a 90% rating despite the 1st Tri not being over yet, which set my mind as ease. It was funny she also gave us all sort of “things to think about” as a Doctor, a Mother, an IVF patient herself which I didn’t know, a wife, daughter etc which I thought was very cool. Told my DH to call her when I was in delivery because she likes to go and visit and meet the newest, which again proved to me that we picked that right Doc. DH wanted her to be our OB. I called to set-up my 12 week testing appointment only to find out my OB/GYN is no longer OBing and that I have to go in for a first appointment to “fill out paperwork and talk to an Nurse Practitioner about my pregnancy” what? I’ve been with this place for like 10 years, my RE is send over all the cycle documents and a letter turning my Pre-Natal care over, and so what’s this all about. Sounds like another way of bilking an office visit out of insurance and a co-payment out of us. But what else can I do, I just have this feeling that I’ll get in there just to have her look at me like “why are you here”. So I have that appointment next week and then will have to wait for another few weeks for the 12 week appointment. The waiting, never ceases ;0)
