Going backwards today....

Just when I thought I was making progress not only with myself but also my husband.  But like I said before I will work on me first. When my husband first wrote me this letter I had to calm down before I wrote him back.  I gave it some thought(which I am proud of) I have not responded as of yet, it has been over a month. Oh I have written him and we talk about other things. We joke and laugh as usual but I am not ready to bring up the subject(to get the whole story read opinions please..I am pissed!) it explains how I feel my husband is being selfish again. I am just venting, sometimes talking and yelling makes me feel better. thanks for listening..I'm o.k just a little mad

Yes it does help to talk things out with someone who will listen and not criticize you for what you think and feel. I sure have done that lately.

I too have to stop and think before I mail mine any letters. You can\'t take back the words if you send them in anger. Better to write down what you are feeling, then either put it away, or rip it up.

Mine got out of prison 8 months ago, did good for a few months, then relapsed big time. He is now in a treatment center for 3 months.

I did find a letter he had written to me just before he came home from prison. Promises of a better life, apologies, etc. And so I am sending him a copy of what he wrote, what he was thinking back then, after spending 3.5 years in prison. I am hoping it will help him.

You have to be so careful what you write.

Coming on here, at least all of these people get what we are feeling. That helps tremendously.

I already had a neighbor trying to set me up with some new man. Not thinking of doing anything like that yet.

you are truly correct...you cant take back the words. but on the other hand I dont think it should be ripped up(not this one just re worded) o.k Rew explained if he won a settlement against the state for malpractice he would not have to split it with the prison(he lied) just his family and lawyer. Financially we are struggling. I think I should confront him do you think I should?

Mine always wanted to know what was going on with the bills. He didn\'t want me to hide anything. We think we should protect them from bad stuff, but mine felt if I did that I was lying to him. He actually helped me figure out the bills and the bank account. I kept him in the know of pretty much everything.

I just had to hold my tongue a git on things I didn\'t agree with of what he thought or said. I chose my battles, and did cushion some of what was going on, but in the end, he hated that when he eventually found out.

I think I missed what you are talking about, in regards to Rew and suing someone.

o.k sorry I posted on the board \"can I get some opinions..I\'m pissed\".It was about a letter my husband wrote to me. He knows financially me and his child are struggling and he might have been in a position to help but the post explains why he did not and I was thinking of writing back calmly explaining how this may help when I really want to write back screaming and swearing but like you said once words are said we cant take them back so I better calm down first. THE POST IS STILL ON THE BOARD

I did read that post yep I would be ticked at him as well!
But bring it up when your ready to and can talk to him with a cool head about he needs to know how hard this is on you as well...his gotta remember your the one who\'s holding it together out hear!
Iam pretty honest with my man about what I can and can\'t do for him while his in there and I think his worked out that I\'ve had to skip on a lot of things while his been in wich is why he keeps asking about the bills and stuff!
Pick your time when you talk to him about it.
