GODs Pun Saved us

 
This message occurred to me after Lord spoke through a specific passage, several times. 

We never will come to know about how deeply Lord suffered on the Cross. We all generally think of the physical pains they inflicted on Him. But greater were the afflictions that came on the SON from theFATHER. He took it all on Himself.

In the verse below……..

Gen 15:17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
 
Gen 15:18  In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

We read of a smoking furnace and a torch / lamp passing between sacrifices cut in two half.
I guess Lord was trying to say to Abraham that HE promises to separate Israel from rest of the people of Egypt and then from nations around till they reach the land of Israel.

We latter read when Jews left Egypt they were led by the pillar of light in the night. This accounts for the torch in above verse. But there is also a smoking furnace here.

Furnace is used to separate and purify metals. It is heated so that one metal melts away and others burn away. The impurity is burned off or oxidized.

That’s exactly what the LORD says in this verse………..
Deu 4:20  But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.
 
Lord the father took the Jews out of the Egyptians who were hard as iron to them. Jews were slaves there, it was impossible to dream freedom. But God poured His wrath on Egypt through several plagues and miraculous pestilences.

Lord turned Egypt into a furnace as confirmed by this verse………
Exo 9:8  And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
Exo 9:9  And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
 
As if Lord was saying that let Egyptians have boils and feel that they are in the furnace.

He did it so that they may release the Jewish slaves…….and that they can march towards the land LORD had promised to Abraham – ISRAEL

So that in Israel they can worship LORD GOD freely, in their own country.
But on the way we see that the very people whom Lord brought out of Egypt carried along in their hearts the corrupt practices of that forsaken land. They worshipped idols and yet further they left the Lord and mingled with people from other cultures engaged in ungodly practices.

In other words you can take the bear out of the circus, but not the circus out of the bear…..lol
So Lord wanted them to remain separate and reflect Gods own image but they forsook God few miles from Egypt.

Israel could be reached in 40 days from Egypt, but due to lack of faith it took them 40 years to reach there. They didn’t trust the way Lord was taking them through and kept murmuring against God throughout their journey. Thus it took them much longer to reach their destiny………

Now this is the verse that triggered this worship thought…………

Isa 48:10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I havechosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

So Lord had a problem. It was this. If HE had to punish us according to our sins, then we would be, burnt off, charred, totally consumed in the fiery furnace.

So he could allow only that much fire that wouldn’t consume us.
Thus he says not as silver. Coz silver needs much higher temperature than gold to melt. So he has not given us 3rd degree treatment but had mercy on us and spared us. But if it had to be so then we wont get purified or melt and separate from dross or impurities. What to do?

Option #1
Mat 13:41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Mat 13:42  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
 
But then we all will be destroyed……that’s the problem remember He said he cant purify us as silver. So we being punished and sentenced to eternal Hell is right for God to do, but then He would lose us forever.
 
Option #2
He chose to suffer on our behalf
As in …………

Isa 48:10 …………….I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

He says He has chosen us in affliction.

The word CHOSEN in Hebrew, the original lang. sounds like a “PUN”

Coz it was used to denote ‘to try’ as in ‘test’ someone
And also as in ‘select’

So He could have tried us but if so He would have lost us to Hell, so he selected to suffer Himself
So that by His suffering we might be purified.

He became the body of the furnace and took all the heat and passed only that much pain that was needed for us to anchor us to Him.

All those who were his own would feel and relate to the pain when He suffers…..that was sufficient for us to be purified, melt in His Love and not His anger and separate from all sinful nature to be His sons, in His image, like Him.
Forever…..

In……..
Eze 22:21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.
…….The heat when Jesus became the vessel of suffering was not the nails, not the thorny crown, not the lashes, not the blows, not the spit not the curses, not the hatred not the scorns, not the cross

But……
The wrath of GOD the father that was to consume us
That instead burned JESUS who lovingly became the vessel directly exposed to the flames for our sake.
 
Interestingly in this verse we read………
Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
 
His feet are burned in furnace…….

He walked in the furnace for us, He walked on the wrath of God, He walked that way so that He becomes the collateral or ransom and we are set free……

Hence he shouted from the cross “Eli Eli lama sabachthani”
O FATHER O FATHER WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN ME

cause Father had to forsake HIM to pour out THE wrath on HIM

He took the kind of pain that we can never think of… or even imagine
