God smiled,.... and the cop said "have a good day"
In my last journal I mentioned the simple things in my life that make me smile.
Today I went in search of that smile. I called a friend from work and asked if he wanted to go for a ride in the Mercedes for lunch. Like I said, friends and fast cars. We went out the gorge freeway and hit speeds WAY beyond legal, Bose stereo blastin in the little two door coupe, seats back, seat belts on, and the biggest sh-t eatin grins. Thanx Mercedes!!!!!
Stopped for lunch at a restaurant below the "bridge of the Gods" that crosses into Washington state. During lunch my friend said "you are a very luck guy to have all this." I agreed but said that I was also blessed as well. I also said "This is what you get when you live your life right, by God and mankind!"
After lunch we went over the bridge and headed west (home). The roads are a lot more "sporty" on that side of the river. Taking advantage of everything the M.B. had to offer, we laid into an "S" turn at just under 80 and, sticking like glue, I stepped into the throttle, and yes, .........there was the cop...........oooooppps!!!!
He got to the window and asked "You realize I clocked you at 89 mph going through that turn? What's the rush?" I almost said "Rush? How about going into that turn at 89mph!" A wise voice in my head said "ZIP IT!!" "Nothing officer, just out for a drive" " lisc, reg, and insurance please" My friend said "oh man this is gonna hurt" I told him it's okay because I own it, I did it!!!
The officer came back to my window and said "Its your lucky day, I have to go somewhere else".... God smiled ........and the cop said.."have a good day"
When you smile you make others smile
Me..... havin a GREAT day
