God's Grace

Where to begin.  Well, the last two Saturday's I have been having my inlaws over for dinner.  It gives me an opportunity to cook for someone other than myself, and it give's them a chance to eat a meal in peace.  Both are over 65, they have two grown sons living with them, and the sons don't do a damned thing to help them out-either with finding jobs, helping around the house, or with household expenses.  It's shameful, but, what can I do about them?  Absolutely nothing.  So, I give my husband's parents some respite.
Now, my parents.  They're 85 and 88.  They're going to be receiving help in their home with baths, medication reminders, shopping, cooking,  laundry, etc. VA will be paying for my father's care, and mom will be paying on a per hour private basis-$18.00 an hour-fortunately, they can afford that.  It'll keep them out of a nursing home.  What's been amazing is that their next door neighbor's have coordinated the neighborhood in providing meals to my parents for the last two weeks.  Also, the family doctor lives on the same street and has given my brother his private home phone number and if either of them become sicker, to call the doc, and if it's after hours, he'll make a housecall.  These little things that have been occurring is a manifestation of God's grace in my life.
Now, here's the kicker.  Yesterday, I went to see my dear husband in jail.  We were able to have a private visit in a "interview room".  My husband made a promise to me from now on, and especially when he's released, he's going to honor the marriage vows that we made to one another.  He told me that he's going to cherish each and every day with me and that he will do everything in his power to ensure that I don't have to endure anything negative caused by him ever again.  He told me that I am the best woman that he's ever been with and doesn't want to jeopardize our marriage ever again. He is starting to forgive himself for the CP as well as all the other mistakes that he's made in his past.  Now he can start healing and get whole. He's gaining peace.   We have promised to renew our marriage vows when he is released-on our terms, of course. I walked out of the jail yesterday afternoon with the sun and a smile on my face, and peace in my heart.
I close this entry out with a full and thankful heart.

Cherish the memory. Maybe even start a happiness folder/ box so on days when things don\'t feel so good you can literally sort though all your happy memories.(hopefully together when he get out and you renew your vows.
