God Makes Us Right Again

I mentioned in an earlier entry in my journal that I have taken up reading a couple of books that are "Daily Devotionals".  You know them.  They have an inspirational thought for each day of the year.  From "Grace For The Moment", by Max Lucado, August 31st brought me this gem to ponder:
                                    God Makes Us Right Again
"Create in me a pure heart, God, and make my spirit right again."  Psalm 51:10
"We are thirsty.  Not thirsty for fame, possessions, passion, or romance.  We've drunk from those pools.  They are salt water in the desert.  They don't quench--They kill."
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness...."
"RIGHTEOUSNESS.  That's it.  That's what we are thirsty for.  We're thirsty for a clean conscience.  We crave a clean slate.  We yearn for a fresh start.  We pray for a hand that will enter the dark cavern of our world and do for us the one thing we can't do for ourselves---make us right again."
                                                                  The Applause of Heaven
As my spiritual awakening continues to blow my mind, I am amazed at how He seems to be speaking directly to ME.  The more that I think I know, the less I really DO know.  That much is fairly evident.  And the journey continues.............

oh, how good it would be to be made right...sometimes I pray that whatever the better self that was intended for me will be helped to manifest itself.....

and, as far as knowing, I have come to the conclusion that I \'know\' so very little......

anyway, sending thoughts your way for more healing and growth....

Thanks for sharing...Max Lucado is one of my favorites...I have a devotional Bible that contains writings by him...it\'s one I use for my daily Bible readings...Don\'t be amazed ...God IS speaking directly to you; it is not by chance that you chose what you\'re reading...He knew in advance what you needed to hear... Blessings & Hugs... ~E~

It is amazing how in reading devotionals - so many times He is speaking directly to us. I receive a daily devotional by email from Joel Osteen Ministeries and they usually arrive early in the morning - a great way to start the day and it always amazes me that it\'s exactly what I need to hear.
I also signed up on the griefshare website for a daily email - they send one every morning for 365 days to walk you through this journey and it\'s really incredible how appropriate those daily emails are.
Hugs to you on your continuing journey................

So glad you are finding comfort in God\'s word. Jeremiah 29:11 is often quoted. This is the NIV translation: \"For I know the plans I have for you,\" declares the Lord, \"plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a
future.\"
Blessings,
Doye

GOD\'S DIVINE CARE
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11:28-29 NKJV
