Goals Unaccomplished
Well, this week I was planning on going to a couple writers' nights or open mic nights on the nights I had off. Wednesday was my first day off and I was planning on going to Red Rooster. Red Rooster has a writers' night every Wednesday night. An hour before I left, my roommate asked if I wanted to go see Spider-Man. So I said to myself, "Why not? I'm off Friday and there's sure to be another writers' or open mic night going on." Plus, I haven't hung out with my new roommate since he moved in last week, so I figured I'd hang out with him. Let's fast-forward to today. Once again, I find another writers' night happening at the Commodore Grille and plan on going. Again, a few hours before I'm going, my roommate asks me what I'm doing later on. I told him I might be going to a writers' night. Then, he says he might go and check out Ted later, and suggested I go too. Since I wasn't sure what he was going to do, I just went out shopping to get some new work jeans and went back to our apartment. I've just been hanging out at home ever since, and I doubt I'll be doing either of those things. My goal for this week was to go meet people and listen to their music. I'm hoping to meet people who I can jam with, write songs with, or people who can help move my music career forward. It's already frustrating trying to overcome my social anxiety and fighting with my fears when I make plans, but when my plans are suddenly changed and sets me back, then it just adds on. Oh well. I think I just have to get over it and look at it from a positive perspective. I got to hang out with my new roommate for a little bit, and saw a pretty good movie. There's always next week, and I'm in a city where music runs rampant all nights of the week. There's always tomorrow.

There ya go.. I like your attitude. Okay, so you didn\'t go to the open mic nights this past week. Like you said, there\'s always next week. and the next week and so on.. it\'s Nashvegas! :0) Keep with the goals.. and DO NOT be hard on yourself, okay? I know alot about anxiety ( I was diagnosed with panic disorder 5 years ago.. trust me.. I get it ). Sooooooo.. you got to see a good movie and hang out with your roomate. There\'s always tomorrow. You\'ll do just fine.
