Go Fund Me - Because When It Comes to Mother What's Right Isn't Always What's Easy
So, yes, sometimes she's horrible. Yes, she's disowned me twice. Yes, I have deep emotional scars from my upbringing....but, she's my mother. And what's right is not always what's easy. It would be easy to cut her out of my life. It would be easy to be bitter. It would be easy to nurture the cold and hardness she has seeded in me, and to forget that she is often sometimes kind and generous and loving. It would be easy to forget she taught me to love reading and books. And that she nurtured my love of learning and imagination. I acknowledge that my mother is a deeply flawed woman. She has failed as a mother as often as she has succeeded. I sometimes do not like her very much, even though I love her. But what is right is not always what's easy. And what's right is giving her the opportunity to visit her homeland. So I've started a GoFundMe campaign. I cannot raise the money to send her home for her birthday on my own. And I admit, it wasn't my idea (sending her home), that was Daddy, but with his cancer back and the needed trips to New York for treatment and surgery there's no money. There's never been. I mean, not for this. We went when we were little. But that was neccessary. She's never had a chance to go home on her own and relax and enjoy herself and not be minding children and have a holiday. So. Yeah. For her birthday I'd like to send Mother to Jamaica. I don't know if it's against site rules, but I'll post my fundraising campaign link here and hopefully I'll get donations. If anyone feels like sharing, that'd be good, too.
