Gloomy Day
It's common knowledge that Florida natives are hopelessly addicted to sunshine, we get crabby right away when it gets cloudy. Of course I have dozens of really good reasons to be crabby, even without clouds. I am honestly getting fairly discouraged lately, things are not going that well. Despite years of trying to rehabilitate myself with good meals and exercise, I have not really made much progress. I don't regret any of it, but I admit I had some hope that I would gain some ground against my ME. I am more fit physically, but I run out of gas at about the same place I always do, and I still have days strung together where I feel really exhausted all the time. I guess this is the stage of things where I am supposed to accept my illness and settle for what's left of me. Unfortunately, I just don't think that will happen, I am not the kind of person who gives up. So I guess I am stuck with my endless struggle. Well there are worse things. I have the new gardening season to look forward to, at any rate. My container gardening has not worked out too well, it may be a drainage problem. I have to dump some of the failures out in a wheelbarrow and give them a feel and a sniff. I tried using wood chips in the bottoms of the containers, I think that was my problem. Some of the changes I made in my life have worked out well. I am really enjoying the freedom of living without the ringer on the telephone. Things are so much more relaxed and peaceful. If it were not for needing it for the internet connection, I would shut it down altogether and save some money every month. It is amazing how it so quickly becomes an obligation to have a telephone, like some kind of duty to make yourself available to doctor's secretaries and survey takers. I do enjoy the outrage I get from people when I tell them they can't call me on the phone. "Well, what's your cell phone number? I'll call you on that. You don't have a cell phone???!!"

Love the phone paragraph. For a while we had a function to reject all withheld numbers. Well hospitals and doctors\' surgeries withhold their numbers in this area and got really snotty with me when they had to call revealing their numbers! Power to the people eh? I know what you mean Richie about the struggle. I know I am very fortunate having Gareth by my side. It is more than doubly difficult when you are struggling alone. Hugs to you xx
Sometimes we have to realize we are getting older too.... as my Mickel therapist pointed out, I cant go back to being a 30 year old, darn!
Isn\'t it good having \'power\' over that phone. A \'friend\' phoned this morning, just as I was getting up... on the answer phone she said please pick up, I just want to talk for a minute..... I went off to the loo... thinking \'no way am I picking up that damn phone\'.
You meditate... I think you have said before? I think visualization really does help... I did it for some years, and it is free.
Try and find some things you like to do or see or read... just find things in your day you can enjoy. It helps with the struggle.
hugs Richie,

Thanks for the encouragement, people, I needed it.
