Glad this week is over with....

Well I'm sure happy this week is almost done. It's been rough, but great at the same time. This morning, I will be leaving to get the blood work, todetermine if my PCP should change my meds, for my newly diagnosed, Diabetes.I've been doing quite well, but since my Mother's accident, well it kinda disrupted my eating habitsso, now that she is doing better,I don't have to be there every day, and night,I can get back on track, and watch what I eat, and eat several times a day, like I had started to do.Now I grab whatever whenver I feel weezy, which is not good.So this is my goal starting today, get back on my strict diet, and keep my blood level under 7.To all those reading this journal entry, have youselves a wonderful, side free, weekend.Love & Respect,MckenzieOne day at the time.

I\'m so glad that your mother is better. I remember being concerned that it would be hard for you to maintain a healthy diet and sugar level while at hospital.....so very glad you can get back on track as you know how great you felt when it was level....but like you I wouldn\'t leave my mother\'s side either.

You are such a wonderful giving person - take time to take care of you! Cause we all need and love you....

I found eating the same time everyday and following a strict schedule works as does some walking....being diabetic now for 19 years I know the challenges..remember that stress also elevates your blood sugars ...and when sugars are hi causes mood swings..
You are doing well my dear friend...it isnt easy..
Prayers for you and your Mom..and much love too!!! Serenity55/Deb

I was borderline during one of my pregnancies. Did some research and followed a diabetic diet. I felt fantastic. I am planning on doing the same now but this weekend I didn\'t. I couldn\'t get up to cook. It is easy to get off track but just as easy to get back on. I\'m sure you will do fine.

Well I\'ve been to the Doctor and got my results.
I kinda expected that the 3 month test wouldn\'t be great since they included the first month, which was way high up there, so it was expected.
So I have another 3 months to get it in the normal range.
Apparently with diabetes, the colestoral is higher, it had been normal until now.
It is a bit high, so another thing to work on.
But good news, My blood pressure was lower than the last time.
So I\'ve got a lot of work on dealing with getting those numbers in the right range.
I will start writting everything down that I eat, and eat at the same time each day.
Counting calories as always worked for me in the past so this is my best bet.
Thanks for the support gals, you are the best.

I am glad to hear that you have gotten on top of taking care of your diabetes. Mine has been up some what but I am trying to be careful about what I eat and coping with the stress of loosing my friend. No matter what you do right to control it, that stress can creap right in and mess it up. I am so proud of you having gotten through your testimony and having kept your bloodsugar in such good control. Keep up the good work.
