Giving Up

Thinking of giving up on this weight loss thing. I think I would be a much happier person if I wasn't hungry all the time. So much of my life revolves around food.
For the shin-dig with the family Dave put a pork roast in the crock pot and I made coleslaw. We had some nice big rolls and made pulled pork and coleslaw sandwiches with potato chips and ice tea. I did have a big fruit plate for everyone. Then we had these pretty yellow mini (lemonaide) cupcakes with white centers that looked like flowers for Ren'ees cake (I put them all on a big round plate, they looked like a big bouquet of flowers) and I bought real vanilla ice cream to go with it.
I can not think of how I could have been more successful with low fat anything in this meal? I did get pineapple sherbert, which just happens to be super yummy with lemon cake and of course, the fruit.
So then it comes down to exercise, which all of you know is difficult, at best, when you never know if you'll be able to walk before or after. I need to get back into the gym, swimming is what I love most. Excellent exercise and doesn't hurt.

Don\'t give up on the diet thing... just postpone it til August when I will be starting with one too.
I soooo get the not being able to exercise part and the not being able to walk. I found an exercise books for seniors that are all sitting exercises that I hope to get. Although it probably won\'t help with losing weight I really need to tone up whatever I can.

That dinner sounds scrumptious... I wish you had a picture of that plate of cupcakes...sounds so pretty and I would love to try to recreate it (not a creative bone in my body regarding food.) The only thing I really do well with food is eat it. ;-)

Getting to the gym sounds lovely but right now for me...getting to the gym would take all my energy ...the heat here is Horrendous...the humidity was 82% in my house today... erggghhh.. Maybe I should just start doing the breast stroke in the air...what do you think?

Hope your weekend is wonderful and remember you CAN do this weight loss thing (just trying to be supportive here)

Peace, Love and Hugs

Swimming is actually a super great exercise as it\'s basically gentle on all your joints and muscles. But, also on exercise, do you have access to groups that maybe have programs to cater to what you need. For instance, here, we have the arthritis foundation that can supply info on all kinds of classes that can cater to almost everyones ability. But, really, when all is said & done, it really doesn\'t matter what you do. If you find anything at all that is a fit for you & your ability then thats all that matters.
As far as diet. I once attended a seminar from the Canadian Diabetes Assoc and a good point was brought up. It was that actual \"dieting\" is not always a fit for everyone in life & that as long as you did your best to eat well balanced meals & food choices & can fit any kind of activity into your days then your body will most likely achieve a balance that is happy for it.
