Give Another Go

I think of Mary and her endless trials with the singles scene. I am not as adventurous or eager (suprising huh) as she has been. I put a few ads on a couple sites but decided it wasn't worth it as one does pimp you out to 85 more to make more $$$ off of us.  So I wised up and cancelled the last one early, but was told it would go until the 21st of July. So I just kept looking as well as Zoosk keeps sending me profiles even though I did not join that one.   

Right as my membership expired I did notice I had a quick hello...  then followed by a nice long message that did steer me to answer back. Luckily the message was still sent and we exchanged numbers and have been chatting and texting ever since. He has work in Allentown on the 5th so mentioned coming the 4th and spending some time together. The more we chatted, I told him how I was having a hard time.... The move continuing to be postponed, my house being such a freaking mess trying to sort, sell and downsize.... and also mentioned my birthday coming up and the fact it is a big one and I will be spending it all alone. But he has made my day giving me something to look forward to. 

He went one step further and said how about if he came 2 days early? (Does not work again til the 5th so has the early week free) When I told him how embarassed I am with the house right now , he told me not to worry. he could do what I needed and help. He was a general contractor but had a heart attack a few years back, Has 2 stints, and is doing very well. but gave up the business. Now he does some computer and techno stuff. (Can help with fixing things as well as with all my computer,speakers, wiring stuff ,...   Halleluliah!)

So he is coming on my birthday and staying til the morning of the 5th. Sleeping on the couch so we can spend some time together and I can get more done. I realize in the beginning the stardust is in our eyes and can cloud our judgement. We shall see. He comes from a military family (served in the navy himself) and does claim to be helpful. thoughtful and affectionate. He is the same age as me with 2 grown kids, and 5 grandbabies.   We are both tired of being lonely. I am not getting the hopes too high, just hoping for at least a connection and friendship. (After talking forever, I do think we do have that. )  Just imagine, another as chatty as me!  Ok stop laughing now, haha
