Gifts
I am going to continue talking about things Eddie has taught me & gifts he has given me over the last year - my first year without him physically here. Some of the things he has taught me are:
To be gentle with myself - I have had to learn what that means.
To truly forgive Eddie's Dad & to truly wish him healing & love in his life.
That I must Grieve my old life - the one that included Eddie being Physically here.
The realization that even in this grief process I have choices.
Some of the gifts Eddie has given me are:
The knowlegde that he is still with me.
The peace of nurturing a garden - city girl - never gardened before this year.
The love of animals deepening: the ability to realize I must seek out Doggie kisses & kitty hugs at every opportunity. They are healing.
The ability to forget the past & be grateful that Ken & I have a friendship with Eddie's Dad, my ex -husband.
My grandchildren - I wouldn't have them without Eddie & also their mom's other children. Eddie loved my DIL's younger children that she has with her boyfriend. These babies have helped Joshua & Christina heal & we all experience joy through their eyes....
Love to all of you. We have shed some tears, but have been peace - filled. I can feel all of your prayers & I am borrowing strength from all of you. I told my grandchildren that we have FMO friends praying for us from all over the country & even other countries & they said it helps a lot. Love all of you.
Dearest Eddie, We are all OK. We are helping each other. You will never be forgotten. You are only a breath & a heartbeat away. Love always, Mom

Such tough lessons for you to learn but you are gaining wisdom and insight to this life like never before....I pray that I do, also. Thank you for sharing your lessons from your son....life is a cruel teacher sometimes. love, dale..brandon\'s mom
Again...a wonderful tribute...love and big old hugs...Karen
They are tough lessons for sure & I can\'t tell you how many times I\'ve said life is cruel this past year. I hope I keep learning & it means a lot to me to give Eddie a fitting tribute. Love to both of you dear sisters.
We all walk this journey together - that makes it somewhat bearable. If it wasn\'t for love, why would we care? Lessons in love, what a lovely journal you have written about these. Wishing you comfort and peace. Truly your friend, BarbaraWawa
I wish I didn\'t have to experience this tragedy, but if I must then I pray I can learn from it. I thought when Eddie passed my life was in a sense over but God & Eddie taught me I must continue to grow in love. Your words are so true Barbara - its about all about love.
I like it. Hugs, Inga
Hugs to you, Inga
Thanks for sharing this and I think while it is very tough lessons, I can see how much you have learned from it and are moving at a wonderful pace....forward! Eddie is proud of his mom! Hugs, Kim
Linda, sounds like you are doing a great job of learning and healing. Sometimes I feel stuck. I don\'t care if I am supposed to learn and grow, I just want Doug back. But I know that is not going to happen, so I guess I\'d better start focusing on learning and growing. It\'s not good to be stuck. And Doug would want me to make the most of this life as all our children do. Love to you, Sue
Thank you, Kim & Sue. It makes me feel good to hear that Eddie is proud of me. I have days when I say I can\'t fight this fight anymore & I too feel stuck & I think even regress. I think we all experience similar ups & downs. And you are right. Our kids want us to have a good life. I think the fact that we all reach out to each other here at FMO makes me believe we all still have hope. What a blessing for me to have all of you holding my hand through this path that noone ever wants to go down. Love & peace to you both.
Linda, this is just plain gorgeous. Your heart and mind are open to all these lessons and gifts... it\'s sad, our journey of life, but there are so many blessings along the way. You inspire me!
Much love, Sarah
Thank you Sarah. Love to you, too.
\"The realization that even in this grief process I have choices.\"
This is absolutely true! And how unfortunate so many choose the negative and get \"stuck\" there on the journey. I think grieving people have to desire to heal before any forward movement on the journey can even take place. I also love that part about doggie kisses and kitty hugs! So true, too!
Love, Donna
So love hearing more and more about Eddie!! What an amazing guy! Kala has told me to forgive her dad as well....that\'s a hard one for me....but I am trying. The greatest gift I have is also the knowledge that Kala is with me. Thank you for sharing your heart and your Eddie with us. Love ya, Teri.
