Getting used to the new "normal'
So, it's been 3 1/2 weeks since we found out about my brother. I am able to sleep through the night now. The knowledge of his crime is no longer invading every waking moment. I still haven't gone through an entire day without thinking about it. But the knowledge is no longer tainting every aspect of my days or leeching every ounce of happiness. In my mind, I declined him permission to upset my life. My mother is also starting to recover, she is a resilient woman. I still worry about her and my dad. I do try to keep up with the court proceedings, so I know that his court-appointed lawyer has withdrawn from the case. His preindictment hearing is on the 25th.
His employer posted his bail and his wife trying to find a cheap apartment. She needs him to advise her on how to sell off some of their items. I just don't understand her lack of the mamma bear instinct. According to her with my brother working again my ex-sister in law can continue to get child support. But she didn't get her child support payment. I really don't trust the current wife.
My professional life has just gotten a little more stressful. I just got a promotion that has increased my responsibilities. But it's all good.
