getting to know me
Hi everyone,This is offbalance from Texas. I just joined Daily Strength last night, I was very happy and relieved to find this site. I was diagnosed when I was 19 with bipolar II, I was three days from becoming 20. Needless to say, it's been quite an emotional ride. A little about me: I graduated nursing school last year, I live with my parents, I love to write and I create little "books". My main field in writing is lyrics. I also make scrapbooks and I love to run. My town is small, small but crowded. I have a lot of friends. However, at this point I've had many many symptoms, and no around could possibly know what it's like to live inside this disorder. And I need support from those who do know. At this time I am getting stabilized on a new medication. I took myself off of Seroquel and Effexor last spring and fell into a relapse several months later, which sadly, changed a few of my relationships. Last December I began medication again (Lamictal) and I think it might be time to increase that dosage. I am also on Ativan, which is working very well. This past weekend I fell again, but I recovered quicker than last time. However, I'm very discouraged because my one friend who's been a part of my disorder, and my life beforehand, has not returned the last 6 messages that I have left him. But he is another completely different story, one of love and heartbreak and friendship. I could go on about him. This is briefly my recent happenings. And just like every human life, there are deep and life changing stories in all our hearts. I hope to hear from some of you soon! Can't wait to meet you also. Take care until then, and thanks so much for reading my first journal entry. -offbalance
