Getting through the week, dreading the weekend

I wake up Monday morning saying, "Okay, one day at a time, let's just get through the week".  Then comes Friday and I made it through the week YEAH, but I look forward and see it's the dreaded weekend.  I feel like my life is just passing me by and I'm not enjoying it at all.  Where did my happiness go?  Not really a question because I know where it went.  It's with my Randy.  He made me happy just being there.  We did do special things but even when we did nothing it was special.  I always told people we "liked" each other.  Of course he was the love of my life and he always said the same thing but we really liked each other too!  We liked watching t.v., seeing movies together, going out to eat with friends, family or just each other, or when the kids were small and money was tight playing cards all night.  We enjoyed each others company.  I think I miss that most of all.  I miss my best friend.  I miss his laugh.  I miss him making me laugh.  I just miss him!

Dawn,
I feel just like you..I liked my husband...he was my best friend and we did everything together, everything. We did not have any friends because we weren\'t the kind of couple that went out with girl friends of guy friends because we enjoyed each other so much. I know couples that can\'t even go out to dinner without having another couple along. We would read the paper together, watch tv, even sit and read books at the same time. As long as we were together we were happy. So I know just how you feel..it\'s such a loss..so hard for most to understand unless they have been there.
As the quote in the movie said \"you complete me\"....that is how we felt about each other.

Dawn, you hit the nail on the head with this one. It is exactly how I feel about Bear. He has always been my best friend and I miss everything about him. I loved the life we built together and I know that it will be impossible to replace. Hang in there....we are all together in this mess. Nancy

I know what you\'re saying. There is a gaping hole in the world, in the day, in my heart, all the way through everywhere I look. It seems to take the color and the meaning right out of the world.

I understand just what you are saying. I liked my husband so much. It\'s different from loving them. Dick was my best friend and as well as my husband. He made me smile and when he went, so did my smile. Just hearing his voice on the phone would make my day better, made me grin ear to ear. He was the light in my life and now the light is gone and my life is dark and dreary. I miss his grin and sparkle that his had in his eyes. I loved his eyes. They always twinkled with orneryness. He had a wonderful sense of humor. And wit. You never got one past him. I miss him so bad.

I admired him like no other man I have ever met. He was one of a kind. My sister has always told me that he was one person you just wanted to like you. You wanted his approval. He was a man that was not a fake. My son keeps telling me that he set the standard so high that no other will ever compare.

It\'s so hard to accept that he is gone from my life. I fight it everyday. I miss the walks and talks. I miss every thing about him.

I know-I know-There was nobody or no place we would rather be than with each other. We have lost our soulmates. Our hearts are broken and I\'m not sure there is a cure.

Dawn; I can so empathize with your journal! Dan was my best friend and companion! After his passing that is what I have missed so much - his being with me to enjoy doing so many things. We had our ups and downs but I really liked him. Thank you for writing this journal, HUGS, Sue
