Getting there fast!
I can not believe I have let another month slip by w/o an update! Lately, it has been so crazy in my life.....just the beginning, right? We finally finished painting the baby's room...oh, and his name is Holden Vincent Reardon. Kirk just made up his mind this past week on his name - what a stubborn a_ _!!! LOL! Bed is in just have to pick it up and assemble it. Bedding is in and I had a lady come by this past week to give me an estimate on curtains. My sweet mother-in-law wanted to pay for them for us so since I know nothing about curtains, I asked a friend's mother who has a shop to come over. I have two windows in the baby's room and all I wanted were two panels for each window, chocolate brown in color. Nothing elaborate just a nice fabric, rod and rings. Well, got the quote in yesterday and it was $859!!!!! I was taken back a little but told her I would get back w/ her. So I called several friends (one of which is very well off but does her own decorating) and she said "Shannon, even the richest of the rich would think that quote was high" so I felt better about it and my friend even said tell her no way and I will help you do the curtains. We still have so much to do and we still need to order a dresser and a glider of some sort. I'm actually thinking about getting a rocking chair at Cracker Barrel and getting some nice pattern to go in the seat. That would be more cost efficent for me right now. But I do love the gliders w/ the ottomans:) Holden is a very active boy and I'm hoping this is not an indication of what is to come..hehe! I'm getting bigger and bigger each day and try not to dwell on it much anymore. I know me and know that once the baby comes, I will start a work-out routine and oh, how I can't wait to start running again. I even registered for one of those Jeep brand runners - I love it!!! You can hook up your ipod and the baby can listen too while you run - neat-o!!! This weekend I had my church shower and next week we have a shower at my in-law's church and then the next week is the shower my friends are throwing for me. So I have a lot to do to get the room ready for the shower gifts. We are truly blessed w/ friends and family - everyone knows how much we have longed for this child and people are being so generous!!! God is so good and so are you, my DS friends. Thank you for your unconditional support and love - it means so much to know you care as I care and love each of you and still pray for miracles to come in your lives. I wish EVERYONE of you will experience God's gift of love. Bless you all!

WOW 32 weeks!!! You look amazing!! I felt exactly as you do now at this point in my pregnancy - completely overwhelmed and underprepared for the impending arrival. Everyone will tell you this and you probably won\'t listen but here goes - try and take these next few weeks very easy! Try and rest as much as you can and be prepared for an early arrival (even if it is your first!) - I wish I had of listened to this advice! Anyway enjoy these last precious moments with your precious boy moving inside of you, it won\'t be long now and he will be safely in your arms! Take care and keep us posted - can\'t wait to see pics of your new arrival xo. Ps. My little man was VERY wriggly whilst in my tummy - and he still is SUPER active now - good luck with that LOL!
Professionally installed curtains are mind-blowingly expensive, that has been my experience too. Glad you have a friend who can help you with them. Sounds like you are well on your way to having Holden\'s room ready.
I\'m looking forward to exercising again too! :) Enjoy your baby showers, I\'m glad you have so much love and support from your friends and family.
Yeah I got the same sticker shock when I wanted curtains. The bedding I picked did not have matching curtains, so I went to Ethan Allen. I wanted two pinch pleated panels out of this white textured fabric with a band of baby blue gingham around the edges and tie backs. I also saw hardware I liked. They called with the estimate $1,865!!!! Now I know pregnancy can cause some lapses in judgement, but to spend that would have to be psychosis! Needless to say went to a fabric store and a friend with much more domestic capabilites then me is helping me out. What would we do without friends?
Love the name Holden, so cute.
After three showers you are going to be set. You never know you may want to wait on the rocker because you might get enough in gift certificates or cash at your shower to buy the glider. I am so glad that you have such a great support system and that you are finally getting what you deserve. It is your turn to be the star of the shower! I hope you get the Jeep stroller. I got one at my shower and it rocks (literally with the ipod hook up). I can\'t wait to use it. But alas, it would look a little silly if I took it for a test walk (more like waddle), so I will have to wait.
Wow Shannon! You are close to being all set and ready for baby Holden. :)
Do you have a Babys R Us where you live? I was just in there the other day and they have beautiful, name brand \'set\'s of bedding for just $100-$200 total. The set includes everything from the bedding, comforter, quilt, sham, curtains, and even smaller accessories like wall decorations and lamps. I could not imagine someone not having a better \'conscience\' than to try to rip off a sweet expectant mother with a price of $800 just to do two small panels. I\'m so sorry that happened to you. :(
I agree with KaraF, you may get so much at the three showers that you will be able to return stuff like duplicates and \'unwanted\' goods. Like with a wedding, you might have enough in store credits and gc\'s to buy all the stuff you still don\'t have.
Either way, isn\'t this FUN?!!! :) Enjoy every minute of it. You are so deserving of this special time.

Your little one is almost here. Good luck getting the nursery finished!
Yes, we are so close!! and be prepared because after the showers, you\'ll want the baby here to start playing with the stuff!! (I know I go into the baby\'s room and organize the drawers almost every day, not to mention that I look at my stroller like it\'s a BMW and want to go for a test drive SOOOO badly!!)... Let\'s try to keep each other posted!! OOOh... and thanks for remembering my b\'day!! :)
