Getting The Best Indoor Playground

This is a question I get asked very frequently when I tell folks that I own a drama café. I guess that is what happens when you introduce a totally new idea to your town.
Indoor playgrounds have existed for a little while, and there are lots of of them in our city of Burlington and neighbouring cities of Oakville and Hamilton. They are the places that you take your kids to when they wish to burn off their energy when it's too cold outside to visit the playground, or when you do not need them to tear your house apart. They are the places where your children can run throughout mazes, climb ropes, slide down slides and let out all of the mad!
It was actually at an indoor park the idea of Chickadee Family Cafe was born in my head. I'd taken my afterward two-and-a-half year old to a popular indoor play space in our hometown Burlington and tried to keep up with him as he ran down slides and through mazes. I crouched into miniature corners chasing my little guy around and came out utterly exhausted (proceed, insert jokes about how out of shape I am here).
As soon as I emerged in the drama structures, I looked at the other parents. Many were standing around trying to keep a visual in their kids' whereabouts. Some were phoning their kids' names, trusting that they were not stuck in a maze...'trigger c'mon, most of us know no grownup wants to need to climb all the way up those structures to regain a crying child. Mostly, they seemed exhausted and tired. Perhaps their children awakened at 6am too.
Don't get me wrong, there was lots of laughter and giggles. I had fun with my son, which was the major purpose of going to the indoor playground, but in a place filled with other moms and dads around my age with children around my son's age, there was a massive opportunity for building connection with my community that I believed was completely missed. However, the atmosphere didn't actually lend itself to using an actual conversation.
I started to research what else was out there for a few superior mother -- son time that didn't require me to crawl on my hands and knees and squeeze my buttocks through a tunnel match for a toddler. I discovered play cafes. Play cafes are comparatively new to Canada, but are around the UK, Australia and the US for several years. A play café blends the needs of both parents and kids indoor playground, fueling parents with caffeinated beverages while supplying ample play space for kids to explore and have fun.
