Getting Closer
Well, it's getting closer. In a little over a month I'll be getting on a plane and heading to California. Still scared. Preparations will be getting in high gear this weekend. First thing is fix the suitcase. I'm using Mom's. She had a matching set of 3. One large and one medium case and a little carry-on one. She needed all 3 of them plus a hanger case for a week's visit! I'll be using only the large one. I'm gonna have to take a hacksaw to it. There are 2 small locks on it. Now, I never throw away a key. Keep them in a coffee can. Never know when they'll come in handy. When I saw the locks, I took out all the keys. Found all the small one I thought would fit the locks. Non of them worked. But, I found 2 locks in the coffee can with keys that worked with them. They were on a keychain. Never know when I"d might need that keychain. Think it had a thunderbird on it. So I've got to saw off the old locks to make room for the others. I figure I'll have plenty of room in the large case. I don't have any fancy clothes. Just jeans and shirts. No fancy shoes. Just my walking shoes and my imitation keds and flip-flops. My CPAP machine case will be my carry-on, although the airlines allow the CPAP to be considered a personal item which means I can bring a carry-on bag. But, as near as I can figure, I won't need the carry-on. I think the CPAP bag will hold my med case, BS testing stuff, and my Texas Hold-em game. I can get in a lot of Texas Hold-em during the 3 hour flight if I don't zone out and sleep from the MP3 player. The guy at security is going to flip when I empty my pockets. There'll be a coin case, key case, glasses, pill case, inhaler, cash, handkerchief, comb, and billfold, and that's just in my pants! In my shirt pocket will be cellphone, cigarettes, cigarette lighter, nicotine gum, and MP3 player. Hope they have enough baskets. At least I've got that part figured out. Now, just remember to load up the pockets.

Don\'t forget to put in your pocket an extra pair of tighty whitys, just in case your luggage doesn\'t follow you. Happen to me in San Diego when I was leaving at 7AM in the morning for a plane destination to Baja, Mexico. Received carry on at 11PM at the hotel I was staying overnite . Now I carry a survivor kit. I love your humor!! Don\'t you back out of this trip, it\'s going to entertain me for weeks. your friend, Sue
Don\'t be scared. Look what happened the earthquake happen before you even left Texas. Just relax and be prepared to enjoy the trip. You are going to have loaded pockets. You have to get on your sister\'s computer and tell us all about it.
