Getting Back on Track

I had a wonderful weekend. I attended a lovely Engagement Party on Long Island, cuz Kathy's daughter (longIslandKat) Katie and fiance Robert.  Sunday Kathy took me to my favorite Thrift Shop and I cleaned up like crazy they had a big slash price sale.  I bought 3 new tops for myself brand new for around $12.00 for all three.  I also bought beautiful baby party dresses for my antique composition dolls.  Now I can give these little ladies some new pretty party dresses.  My dolls are 28" tall and quite heavy and lifelike little girls, "Mae Starr's".  I collect old black rag dolls too.  I have downsized and keep them in just one room.  Not all over the house, so I do not look that bizarre, LOL.  I have always liked dolls since I was a child.  Now I have plenty of time to play with them.  Still play dolls.  Sew their clothes and make them pretty.  I was worried for our friends on DS and my Cousin Bob in Galveston, TX.  Kathy's brother, these storms are so dangerous.  I may just stay put here in New York for a while.  At least until hurricane season is over.  I had a nice summer considering, losing my Baby Doll Yoda.  Thanks to all my friends at DS for understanding.  Now I want to join a pool and start to get my body moving better.  OK, I am back on track now for the weight, so what else is new!!!! LOL  Luv, Ree

mornin, Ree, it\'s good to hear youve had such a wonderful weekend! my partner Lorraine has collected dolls for years and actually the past 3yrs she\'s been downsizing since our move to a condo.

her kids are everywhere and they are so lovely and she just loves them. I have seen some terrific old black ragdolls on ebay - it\'s amazing the variety of styles and clothing and materials that dolls are made in. (dolls for adults more than children I mean0!

i am kind of into the unique buttons that i\'ve seen on many of the doll outfits, and even on their shoes their are often the most interesting buttons and little embellishments.
