Generalized Anxiety Disorder (In A Man)
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (In A Man) Tuesday, April 17, 2012 | A Venting story
Generalized Anxiety Disorder is a crippling Mental Illness(That's right you heard me, I said Mental Illness). As a child I always knew of Mental Illness in family members. Seen it depicted on television, but never thought it could hit me.I mean sure I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in the mid-1990's but that's a neurological illness as we now view it( Back in 1995 it was considered a psychiatric condition). Generalized Anxiety Disorder however is Psychiatric I understand that am coming to terms with it. The symptoms though as man it's really hard to struggle with anxiety due to it being associated mostly with women. Always on edge, fearful, intrusive thoughts, and physical symptoms. It is hard to swallow. It's also pretty demoralizing to feel you been weakened by something like anxiety, until you realize it's not just you.Millions of other Men & women, Boys & Girls, people of all ages & races struggle with anxiety. It's then you realize there's strength in numbers.
