general update//dinner at k's//shopping for supplies//reading kr's book, i ordered a copy

i'm trying to edit the long one and put it in two places and it won't let me.  ds works best at the library on a private network.  on here i have trouble.  i'm eating a salad and drinking bottled water (no fluoride, yay!).  got a bunch of work done, so today is a lot better than yesterday.  but still dragging.

had late dinner at k's.  picked him up cat food, and then discovered he didn't need it as he had picked up a small bag when they didn't have any big bags.  very odd.  did their stockboy not show up?  he says the floor is levelled they picked out laminate and are ready to go.  i haven't looked at it at all.  he's into all that stuff and i'm sure its great.  i'm more interested in the bathroom and switching out the kitchen cabinets.  i offered to help with tile and i keep looking for a tile person.  so much for me doing handy things, but i hate crafts too so...my kind of art is a museum or painting and back when i was pro, photography.  i also enjoy shopping, but that isn't an art and even that gets overwhelming if you don't eat out first, especially if its a large store that you aren't used to.  if the house works out, i'd like a deck added to the top of the roof (even better would be a second floor with a large deck, like i already have here).   any size really, how much is princess stairs leading to a deck.  i don't even know, they have a lot of those around here though.

we drank bourban and cokes, had ham, birds eye broccoli (which to me tastes better than all the other broccoli's though they claim that isn't possible.  maybe they add sugar to it or something?), baked potato and sour cream, salad with black olives and blueberries with sour cream for dessert and coffee.  watched inspector gently, which is always great and the show that is on before that, also from england.

need to call the travel agent, go to the home store, have a cat door made, purge books and if possible line all that stuff up downstairs somewhere.  the mover said the biggest problem is the small stuff.  i'll miss the beach air and the deck, but i'm one of the many in usa that enjoys moving every 6 years.  i was surprised i'm like that, but i am.  my friend's mother used to move her family every 5 years when they were young, but always in the same area.  her husband said they made money on each move.  she'd get a soso house, re-do it and then five years later when its perfect, leave again.  i don't do the redo thing.  i'm not into that.  but i enjoy the movement.  she claimed it also cleans things out, which is true.  its also high stress and i'm old now.  noticed a huge difference.  the last move gave me anxiety.  this one, is affecting blood pressure and i'm not getting any days off, and i NEED that.

ordered kr's book, which i'm reading at the minute.  surprised she wrote one.  its a memoir.  that is how old we all are.  lol.  i picked it up at thrift books on line for $4.  writing a BOOK is hard.  an article isn't and a novella is do-able, but a BOOK wow!  lots of work.  its a fun read, because so much in there i already knew.  had no idea she did solo travel though.  when everyone was kids, she was always WITH someone, so as an adult she grew.  i probably already knew this and forgot, but i was like, way to go kr.  so many go through their entire lives and never do any solo travel, not even the study abroad stuff.
i'm bored at the minute.  we are having afternoon rains daily.  my back is hurting.  i think its lack of sleep the asshole is still making noise.  my neighbor says, if that wasn't going on, you wouldn't be moving.  not sure actually.  we had been looking for acreage "in town" for about two years.  and a lot of the rescue bunch want to do sanctuary and get sanctuary status.  if i do that, then i want to open a food co-op as a church of rescue of some sort.  my goal was never the sanctuary.  my goal was and is to change the law and move to washington d.c. part of the year to do this.  doesn't mean i can even get it through.  look what a mess they made of the abortion laws and that was supposed to be changed into embryo transfer and frozen embryo in 1989.  look at all the years.  its the old saying, don't expect others to DO anything you have to do it yourself.  but doesn't mean it will go through or that another president and his/her regime won't come in even if you get it through and reverse it.  that is how usa is.

oh, and get this, rn\'s neighbor says that rn expected me to do adoptions even when i was recuperating from the car accident for 3 months and had bronchitis for six weeks. (and now the move) i\'m like what? why didn\'t she do them herself, she\'s not working right now. she thinks rn is getting that syndrome where you are home so much that you have no concept of time. i remember that from nursing 101. the patient would expect you to get to the store, shop, and drive back all in five or ten minutes and you have to SAY to them, just getting to the parking lot to my car takes five minutes, driving out the parking lot is five minutes, driving to the store, fifteen minutes, then shopping. you have to break it down for them to comprehend it. doesn\'t make a difference anyway, because when they have that syndrome they totally forget the break down. i don\'t think its ever healthy to stop working. idle hands are the devil\'s workshop.

she also says that the week or two when we were busy and i was almost healthy and did ten adoptions, rn felt that two of those shouldn\'t count because a friend of her\'s adopted. and i\'m like what? part of this is her blood pressure, she hasn\'t found the right med yet or adapted to the meds that she is on, but its still weird. its like who are you?

Glad you\'re reading kr\'s book! Yes, I suppose it would be tons of work. And it\'s not just the writing and all, it\'s getting the thing published and all the red tape. I hope this works out for k.r

I know you really want to get to Washington D.C. We make plans, we try...life keeps getting in the way, doesn\'t it???

Sorry about your back pain. We\'ve had lots of rain and T-storms up here this past week. Everybody\'s sore. My daughter has lupus and she really suffers from muscle and joint pain in the heat. Neither one of us would do well in Florida weather...but I still miss the life style down there...always will.

Have a good weekend, 38! oox

i\'m sure she made some money on it if they advanced her (but she comes from money so she will be fine unless she is another one that went bankrupt after living off of stock as a lot of stock went bankrupt....amazing all that kind of thing happened again all these years later).
