General rant

Just thought I would write a journal entry to keep you posted on how I am doing. I feel alot better emotionally this weekend...lately I have not had a good time at all but I have felt really positive this weekend which has had a good effect on my RA. It was my cousin's 2nd birthday today so we had a family gathering...he got lots of Thomas the Tank Engine toys and he had a brilliant day so that was another good thing. Also tomorrow I am playing in a youth marching band...my recently late great-uncle set it up in 1981 and it is going stronger than ever. I was a member from the age of 8 to 18 but then my RA hit and I stopped going completely because I found it really hard to cope with my RA but a couple of weeks ago I rejoined because I now feel that I am on top of it and I am loving every minute. I played the flute from the age of 6 but I have played the Alto Saxaphone since the age of 12 and I am playing the Sax in the band. Hope you all are well Hugs Lucyx

Hi Lucy, I am so delighted to hear that you decided to go back to the band and that you are doing so well and enjoying it so much. I am a great believer in doing stuff that makes us happy. I know from experience that it is the best medicine that you can get. When you are happy, your body mobilizes everything that it has to heal you. Also, anything physical, like walking is good (I assume that you walk with the band). There is something strange about RA, if you don\'t use certain parts of your body they seem to be affected more by RA than those that you do use. So, the more active you are, the longer you will keep RA at bay. Hugs. Linda
