About GE

GE stands for General Electric. GE Appliances is the company who manufactured appliances and range of other products. The headquarters of GE Appliance are in USA. The company was originally part of GE but due to some reasons, another Chinese company call Haier, acquired General Electric. Since, GE Appliances is subsidiary of General Electric, it is also owned by Haier. Before the acquiring process, the main reason of acquiring became the failure in sale. Before Haier, the companies like Samsung and LG were included for negotiations. After the failure in negotiations with Samsung and LG, General Electric was planning to sell the company to Electrolux. Due to some issues and problems, that deal could not be settled and finally in 2016, the company was acquired by Chinese Company Haier.

Appliance Park

General Electric Appliance Company was constructed on vast area called Appliance Park in Louisville and thousands of people were employed. According to an estimate, the place was 1000 acre with 1200 employees. The building with teams of engineers was destroyed by the wildfire in 2015. After acquisition in 2017, company opened a new dryer and washer manufacturing line. The fire of 2015 is still considered great loss of the company.

GE Appliances

Just like other appliances manufacturing companies, General Electric Appliances also provide a range of products and machinery which made the household tasks easy. The General Electric Refrigerators were and still considered one of the greatest innovations in the field.
