Garbage Bastards!
I am on the downhill side of 62, and as days go by, I am becoming one of the very people I used to snicker at.
I have a beef with the garbage man. Not all garbage men, just mine. He comes for weeks on end at the same time of the day, then for whatever reason, probably something that makes a lot of sense to him and other garbage men I'm sure, he decides to come early. Ah drives me nuts. I hate making garbage, I hate putting it in the can, I hate wheeling it out to the curb, and I hate missing pickup. Augh!
I know, first world problems, but we are at war now. I complained to his boss last Monday about my missed pickup and that I never got a company can. He just came, picked up my whole current can---with two bags of heavy cat litter and one of regular garbage, he never did that before---dumped it on the truck, threw the can in the driveway and spat on it. He did that just now. You are not getting a company can from ME. PA TOOEY!!!! I must consider my next move carefully.
This does not mean garbage men are bad. My husband hauled garbage for years and put up with a lot of stupid crap from people like me. I'm not even frustrated. There isn't a word on the list that describes the theme of my life right now. Old and cranky maybe. Hey I paid my dues...

Thanks George and orsa. I don\'t know why the guy is bothering me so much. I appreciate the job he has to do and I actually respect his right to be angry. Picking up other peoples\' refuse isn\'t a job anyone should be expected to enjoy. The longer nights are getting to me I guess. George we are only as old as we feel. Remember that old chestnut? Hah! My generation was saying that back when we were 40.
